Document the medications given in the resident's clinical record. * Administer oxygen per nasal channel or a non-sealing face mask only in an emergency. Immediately after the emergency, the medication aide shall verbally notify the licensed nurse on duty or on call and appropriately document the activity and notification. * At discretion of charge nurse, count narcotics, give all routine prescribed narcotics, and document same on individual sheet and medication sheet. Full-time Description The Lab Technician is responsible for all aspects of sampling and testing of raw material and finished products. REPORTS TO: Shipping & Receiving Manager SUPERVISES: N/A ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Sampling and testing incoming loads. Collect, inventory and test sample disks. Perform hydrogen tests on said materials. Operate equipment such as a spectrometer and lathe. Perform pot assays on received material. Responsible for maintaining of lab equipment. Report findings on appropriate parties in a timely manner. Regular and timely attendance is an expectation of the position. Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Prior lab experience or technical aptitude preferred. Insures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department's policies and procedures. Maintains records and statistical data according to regulative requirements. Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures. Assists as needed in all laboratory areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or one of the biological or chemical sciences. License/Certification: Eligible for registration as a Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP), MT(AMT), HEW, or CLS (NCA) preferred.
