The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing routine and specialized physical, chemical, and microbiological testing of raw materials, finished products, and associated items to ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and customer quality standards. This role supports production by providing timely and accurate data, maintaining laboratory equipment, and documenting results in accordance with food safety, SQF, HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements. The technician plays a key role in continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with production and quality teams to maintain product integrity and safety.
Responsibilities
Conduct microbiological, chemical, and physical testing on raw materials, finished products, and mixes.
Perform specialized testing including FOSS FT-120, CEM analysis, and plating for SPC, Coliform, yeast, and mold.
Record, analyze, and report test results, promptly addressing deviations or non-conformities.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring schedules are followed.
Assist in investigations related to product quality or process deviations.
Follow sanitary procedures and food processing quality control methodologies.
Standardize mixes and collect line samples to ensure consistency and compliance.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to support product safety and continuous improvement.
Assist in developing and validating new testing methods and procedures.
Adhere to GMP, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including lifting up to 50-pound dairy cases or boxes, and working long hours on feet.
Accomplish other duties as assigned to support laboratory and production operations.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline preferred.
Alternatively, a high school diploma or 2-year college studies in microbiology, chemistry, or lab sciences with 1-2 years of laboratory or quality assurance experience in dairy, aseptic manufacturing, food manufacturing, or related industry.
Experience with microbiological and chemical testing methods required.
Familiarity with food safety and quality standards including SQF, HACCP, and GMP.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with ability to form sound conclusions and initiate corrective actions.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as pipetting, wet chemistry, titration, and using equipment like HPLC.
* Experience in quality control and assurance in a manufacturing environment.

Job Summary:
This position performs Laboratory testing in the Clinical Laboratory. The MedicalTechnologist performs moderate and highly complex testing in the clinical laboratory, responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Perform and analyze diagnostic tests; recognize factors that may affect results
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instruments
Follow regulatory and manufacturer guidelines for accurate testing
Report routine, STAT, and critical results on time
Collect and process specimens per lab procedures
Perform and review quality control; escalate issues when needed
Participate in quality assurance and corrective action activities
Complete proficiency testing
Maintain safety standards and proper PPE use
Support training and ongoing professional development
Use supplies responsibly and assist with cost‑effective practices
Qualifications:
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology program along with certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency
OR
Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology program along with ASCP Certification
OR
CLIA '88 Equivalent (HEW/HHS Certification)
OR
Registry Eligible - Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science and have completed a NAACLS accredited MT/CLS program AND be certified within a year of eligibility or be certified one year from date of hire.
Registry Eligible for a Section Certification - must have a Baccalaureate Degree with a minimum of five-years technical experience in ONE of the Clinical Areas of the Laboratory.

Medpace Reference Laboratories is currently seeking Laboratory Receiving Assistants to work in our Sample Management/Biorepository Department. This individual will be responsible for basic administrative duties as well as the handling and delivery of clinical samples and other materials.
8:00-4:30 PM
Saturday Shift Required
Responsibilities
* Receive biological samples;
* Perform sample processing duties (unpack samples, scanning samples, data entry, etc.);
* Handle dry ice; and
* Prepare sample shipments to be sent to third-party lab
* Participate in clinical study projects to facilitate testing timelines and deliverables
* Assist with routine maintenance and/or cleaning of equipment
* Performs sample retrieval and QC of physical inventory for study-related projects, transfers/shipments, general inventory upkeep, and to maintain database accuracy
* Adheres to good documentation practices, and ensures accurate database entry of sample- or subject-related demographics
* Communicates professionally with inter-functional groups regarding daily business, project-specific requests, or problem resolution
* Coordinates with management, project staff, and other team members to execute assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent;
* Basic computer skills;
* Prior sample management, logistics, or health care experience desired; and
* Team-worker and detail-oriented with good time management skills.
