Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description The Lab Technician will perform activities necessary to maintain and operate the development work in the laboratory under supervision. The role includes performing technical tasks, stability work, and routine and non-routine ordering of raw materials. Additionally, the technician will manage time for environmental stability and validation samples with their supervisor. Responsibilities + Laboratory batching of prototype and final formulations (liquid, emulsion, and surfactant formulas) for clinical and consumer studies, product stability testing, and customer review using approved procedures upon completion of successful training. + Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, including balances, pH meters, viscometers, etc. + Manage time independently and ensure proper documentation of notebooks, logbooks, and other documentation such as raw material MSDS in accordance with laboratory procedures and corporate safety and quality standards. + Participate in the investigation of out-of-specification test results or stability issues and review findings with Laboratory management. + Sample management and ordering of raw materials and finished goods. + Evaluate and analyze competitive products and report results. + Assist in cleaning lab glassware using the dishwasher and maintain laboratory space to ensure a clean working environment following all corporate health and safety protocols. Essential Skills + Understanding of laboratory safety requirements, working with laboratory chemicals, and the MSDS system. + General understanding of chemical test methods and chemical instrumentation. + Basic wet chemistry techniques. The Executive Director for the Medical Laboratory Technician program is responsible for developing the inaugural program. The Executive Director is responsible for all aspects of the medical laboratory technician program and future programs as they pertain to the entry level programs on both the Gloucester and Cumberland campuses. The Executive Director is responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of contemporary curricula, as well as coordination of contemporary resources for student instruction. In addition to maintaining professional standards as identified in the NAACLS accreditation criteria, the Executive Director will serve the College and the Division with service in committees and recruitment activities. The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following: Following the laboratory's procedure for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of test results; Following the laboratory's quality control policies; Documenting all quality controls activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance; Identifying indicators that may impact test performance or reporting of test results and either making corrections or notifying Lab Supervisor; Ordering, receiving, and distributing laboratory stock as needed in laboratory and treatment area; Understanding all checklists and being able to perform all duties on the checklists associated with the position; Adhering to safety policies as defined by Patient First and OSHA; Providing positive, warm and friendly customer service in all interactions; Fostering teamwork and a positive, professional atmosphere; Completing other duties as directed. Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: Employee must be at least 18 years of age; High school graduate or equivalent; Keyboarding experience required; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; One year of clerical experience preferred; One year of clinical experience preferred; Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology or related science. Completion of clinical rotations in the areas of microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology; or Fifty week military Medical Laboratory Procedures course and meet qualifications for military enlisted occupational specialty of “Medical Laboratory Specialist”; Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency of medical laboratory professionals preferred; Registry-eligible technologists are encouraged to apply.

This role supports accurate diagnosis and patient care by ensuring timely and reliable test results in accordance with laboratory protocols and regulatory standards. Shift: The shifts we have available are below: Tuesday-Friday, 1:00 PM-9:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM You Will: All responsibilities outlined in CFR 493.1495 Perform routine and specialized analysis of blood, serum, urine, and other body fluids using automated analyzers and manual techniques. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, ensuring proper calibration and quality control. Review and validate test results; identify and resolve discrepancies or abnormal findings in a timely manner. Adhere to laboratory SOPs, CLIA standards, and quality assurance practices. Monitor and document quality control data, instrument maintenance logs, and reagent inventory. Collaborate with fellow technologists, laboratory assistants, and supervisory staff to maintain efficient workflow. Participate in proficiency testing, competency assessments, and continuing education activities. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of biohazardous materials. You Have: Must meet the qualifications requirements set forth in CFR 493.1489 Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology, or nursing from an accredited institution Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical chemistry and/or hematology laboratory experience Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
