Responsibilities

$5,000 Bonus - Certain criteria is required to qualify for the bonus.

Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Director and Manager, the lead Medical Technologist is responsible for providing supervision of other professional and non-professional staff in the Laboratory. The Lead Medical Technologist ensures staff delivers excellent patient care, customer service, and efficient and accurate analysis of specimens processed in the clinical laboratory. In the absence of the Laboratory Director and/or Laboratory Manager, the Lead Medical Technologist is responsible for providing direction to personnel of the clinical laboratory.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science from an accredited college or university.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

4 years experience in a clinical laboratory.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

ASCP or equivalent certification.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge and skills to perform procedures in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, point-of-care, Phlebotomy, and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

The Valley Health System has expanded into an integrated health network that serves more than two million people in Southern Nevada. Job Description: Responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures. This positions acts as general supervisor over assigned lab activities and requires no direct supervision, able to work alone.

Qualifications

Education:
BSMT(ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA 88

Experience:
5 years experience as Medical Technologist with at least 3 years in departmental modality assigned as a Lead Tech.

Technical Skills:
General bench tech skills required to provide coverage in all modalities

License/Certification:
Nevada State Licensure as general supervisor in addition to ASCP or equivalent board registration.

Other:
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality of patient care appropriately (specific age competent). Must possess appropriate people skills, organization and attention to detail. Must desire to act as a resource and provide assistance as required.

Salary Range:

$35.16 - $46.59 / hour

Under administrative direction, the Lead CLS is responsible for laboratory operations and personnel performing testing. Serves as lead technologist for assigned hospital/sections of the laboratory and performs related administrative duties, provides technical oversight to assure a high quality of laboratory testing for patient care. Performs analyses in hematology, chemistry urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank and microbiology according to expected performance standards and has broad decision-making authority, and independence.Qualifications
Qualifications:

Education: B.A. / B.S. or equivalent in Medical Technology or related clinical field.

Licenses/Certification: Valid state Clinical Lab Scientist license.

Experience: 2-3 years experience in clinical laboratory.
