Job Responsibilities
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures

Requirements

How You'll Impact Patient Care:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Adheres to general hospital standards. Follows hospital policies and procedures. Follows departmental policies and procedures. Ensures accurate and timely performance of laboratory testing. Correctly collects, accessions and/or accurately label specimens. Responds to STAT priority samples immediately. Demonstrates competency to perform all procedures accurately. Prepares and dispenses blood products according to protocols, procedures and regulations.
Ensures quality of laboratory testing. Follows QC procedures and evaluates QC prior to releasing patient results. Records and reviews results for accuracy and before reporting in the LIS. Demonstrates the ability to perform and document accurately all procedures related to critical values, technical limit failures and QA activities. Demonstrates the ability to recognize a problem, seek advice if needed and resolve if possible.
Follows proper safety and identification procedures in all aspects of laboratory testing. Properly identifies patients prior to sample collection. Identifies specimens at the time of receipt and notifies coworkers and involved lab sections when misidentifications are encountered. Labels samples and reports in a legible manner throughout the testing process. Ensure that results are reported for the correct specimen.
Improves work skills through self-study and continuing education. Information from written documents and other communications are reviewed and appropriately applied. Manuals and procedure bulletins are used as reference and learning tools. Available educational opportunities and materials are utilized to enhance professional development. In-house continuing education programs are attended. A minimum of 4 hours of continuing education/year are completed outside of annual in-service requirements.
Contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of the section and department. Able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Covers assigned work area and assists the team in covering other areas that need assistance. Answers the phone and follows through on all requests appropriately. Aids in training and orientation of less experienced employees, students, and others as delegated. Performs work without allowing personal situation/perspectives to compromise lab operations. POSITION SUMMARY
Our Medication Technicians (Med Tech/CMA) provide compassionate, direct care to our residents, assisting them with medication administration and activities of daily living, in accordance with their personalized medication and treatment plans. Requirements:
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certifications:

Current First Aid and CPR license or ability to obtain.

Working closely with clinicians, researchers, students, and staff, the Veterinary Technician contributes to innovative research and clinical excellence by providing high-quality anesthetic management, patient monitoring, post-operative support, and technical expertise. This position also plays a key role in training and mentoring senior veterinary students, residents, and interns in anesthesia techniques and patient care. Additionally, this position involves lifting up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Key Responsibilities
* Administer anesthesia and provide anesthetic support for small animals, large animals, exotics, and avian species-from induction through recovery.

* Monitor and record patient parameters accurately, maintaining detailed electronic and paper medical records.

Under general supervision, assists faculty members with classroom/lab instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction as assigned. Prior to class prepares classroom/lab in accordance to lab manuals and/or faculty members. Assist with facilitating lab activities. Cleans classroom/lab in accordance to program policies.

Job Purpose
The incumbent will be a laboratory employee supporting both Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MS&T) and Technical Development (TD) organization and provide technical skills to support laboratory activities for operational work executed by both groups.
Major Accountabilities
Applies developed skills in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
Becomes proficient on processes and equipment and serves as a hands-on resource in MS&T/TD.
Conducts all assigned activities in a safe and technically compliant manner. Tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Cleaning, preparing, and sterilizing lab equipment
Cleaning and disinfecting lab rooms
Ordering lab supplies and reagents
Responsible for ensuring maintenance of lab equipment
Assembly, set-up, and disassembly of lab equipment
Interfacing with process automation systems and electronic business systems (e.g, DeltaV,Client,Client,PLC s, LIMS, SAP, LiveLink)
Handling biologically and chemically hazardous goods
Supports a high performance teamwork environment
Qualifications
Skills:
Skilled worker with 4 years experience (preferred) in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and/or sterile laboratory environments
Basic knowledge of cGMP requirements
Experience executing standardized procedures and documenting work
Basic mechanical aptitude or knowledge of electronic / mechanical equipment
Education:
High School Diploma and 4 years experience
Associates Degree and 2 years experience
Bachelors in related field and 0 years experience
