Essential Functions
* Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely reporting of results with appropriate documentation.
* Adheres to quality control procedures by performing required checks, analyzing data, troubleshooting out-of-range results, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
* Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly instrument function checks and preventative maintenance according to laboratory policies and procedures.

* Ensures all laboratory procedures comply with safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to the Laboratory Safety Plan.

The essential functions of the job for the
Registered Medication Aide
requires, and may be amended from time to time at the sole discretion of Viva Senior Living to include, but are not limited to the following:
Must have successfully completed course work and examinations to obtain certification as a Resident Care Associate as per State regulations.
Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state, and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.
Must complete required continued education and maintain certification per State regulations.
Must possess knowledge of state medication technique.
Must possess, at a minimum L1MA or CMT
Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and above all, maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
In exigent circumstances, the employee may be subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, temporary staffing shortages, etc.).
Must adhere to Viva Senior Living's attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loves ones.
Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Administers and accurately records the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician in accordance with established policies and procedures of Viva Senior Living and applicable state/federal regulations.
Observes, records and reports to the Resident Care Director, or designee, symptoms and conditions of residents that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects.
Determines and records effectiveness of medications in a timely and accurate manner as required by state and federal regulations and provides and promotes resident's rights during the administration of medications.
Stores medications in a safe and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures of Viva Senior Living and applicable state/federal regulations.
Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are ordered, received into the community, administered and at change of shift as required by policies and procedures of Viva Senior Living and applicable state/federal regulations.
Routinely inspects, cleans, and monitors equipment and supplies to ensure resident safety. Reports any equipment or supply issues to the Resident Care Director for correction or repair.
Obtains, records, and reports vital signs as indicated during the administration of medications.
Demonstrates awareness of proper infection control practice by using Universal
Precautions and following policies and procedures of the company, including OSHA's Blood-borne Pathogen Standard.
Communicates to residents, staff and others in accurate and factual manner and seeks clarification from or refers questions to Resident Care Director when indicated.
Perform other duties as assigned or as listed in the Resident Care Associate job description.

Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.
Report work related injuries and illnesses immediately to your supervisor.
As a condition of employment, complete all assigned training and skills competency.
Participate in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings.
Fulfill responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility's emergency plan.
Assists with evacuation of residents in an emergency situation
Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information, including verbal, written and electronic communications.
Report non-compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
Protect residents from abuse and cooperate with all investigations.
Report any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator.
Report any retaliation or discrimination to the Human Resource Director and the Compliance Officer.
Fulfill individual responsibility to report any suspicion of a crime to law enforcement and the state agency.

* Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload

* Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal
* Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc.

* Maintain laboratory condition, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures
