**Job Summary and Responsibilities** In keeping with the French Hospital Medical Center care philosophy, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist II is responsible for the prompt, accurate performance of various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, in accordance with Mission and Laboratory Customer Service Standards. Performs as General Supervisor as defined in CLIA '88 regulations. Rotates shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, following written notice.
**Job Requirements**
**Minimal Requirements:**
+ Three or more years of recent hospital experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist.
+ Must possess a valid California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
+ Qualifies as a General Supervisor under CLIA 88 regulations.
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ When hired into a specific CLS modality, current, full-time experience in that modality.

Reviews and evaluates the validity and accuracy of test results, recognizing the interdependency of tests, the physiological conditions affecting results, patient age and normal values, controls, linearity errors, instrument codes, delta checks and more. Disposes of contaminated materials and equipment in accordance with policy and assures that work area is properly cleansed after each test. Performs equipment and instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration as needed. Inventories and restocks reagents, calibrators, controls and supplies as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Physician Eyecare Group Clinical Duties
The Physician Eyecare Group (PEG) provides all clinical services in each store, and PEG doctors provide supervision, direction and guidance to the Doctor's Technicians regarding but not limited to Diagnostic Pre-Testing, and Digital Refraction, Contact Lens care and executing all PEG clinical standards.
Meet all training guidelines, procedures, protocols, and certification requirements and clinical standards developed by the Physician Eyecare Group.
The role will also require this person to communicate effectively with the supervising PEG physician for all direction and guidance with regards to patient care within their store.
Each Doctor Technician should seek opportunities to enhance the patient's clinical experience.
Each Doctor Technician must satisfy all the Physician Eyecare group criteria to ensure proper clinical care.
Each Doctor Technician may be directed to support clinical care by the local PEG doctor who is supervising must meet the requirements set forth by PEG, including the computerbased learning to ensure proper patient clinical care.
Required to learn how to utilize local mode as a tool to enhance overall patient experience and perform when necessary, with supervision from the PEG doctors.
Doctor Technicians must provide proper insertion and removal of contact lenses for new and existing contact lens wearers.
Doctor Technicians communicate/order any clinical or contact lens supplies to keep the clinical operation running smoothly as may be required by the PEG physician from time to time.
Ensure accuracy of patient history and personal information in the system
Achieve daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly PEG desired goals.
The metrics that will drive the clinical performance include but will not be limited to:
Prompt and proper completion of outside referrals
Store conversion/performance (supplements, drops, retinal photos, therapy, etc)
Operational Duties
Be part of delivering an outstanding patient experience, collaborating with other team members to accomplish store goals, clinical metrics and initiatives.
Greet our patients and customers as they enter the store, identify patients' needs to ensure an easy and memorable experience while providing promotions on products and services available. Answer customers' inquiries and gather necessary information to facilitate sales.
Foster a strong partnership between the retail team and professional services.
Schedule and confirm appointments.
Assist Management Team with patient complaint resolution and inform the status of pending orders; ensure all patient expectations are met.
Ensure brand standards by performing basic housekeeping duties when necessary.
Achieve daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly desired goals.

Ensure brand standards are met in the lab area, and notify management of equipment malfunctions, incomplete orders, incorrect lenses, etc.
Keep track of delivery time commitments to patients (Now Service, Ready When Promised) to ensure 100% compliance.

The primary obligation of the Caregiver/Med Tech is to provide excellent personalized care in regard to assistance with residents activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure each function at their highest level physically, cognitively, and socially. Direct resident care providers manage care and supervision to residents as needed, and as indicated in the resident care plan. The Caregiver/Med Tech will report to the Wellness Coordinator(s).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Caregiving
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting, hygiene, mobility, etc.
Assist with incontinent care and adhere to bowel and bladder training as indicated in the residents care plan.
Document resident conditions, including input and output, on a daily basis and in a timely manner.
Check residents on a regular basis; Observe and report any changes in the residents condition to Wellness Coordinator and follow up with charting.
Follow Wellness Coordinator direction regarding residents overall management of care.
Monitor resident skin condition, look out for new rashes, skin tears, bruises, patches that are soiled or have come off, etc. Inform the Wellness Coordinator or Director of Wellness of any changes.
Document all new skin conditions on residents daily chart.
Follow Wellness Coordinator direction regarding residents skin care needs, i.e. prevention techniques such as continuous repositioning, use of heel protectors, etc.
Report and document any unusual incidents, such as falls, behaviors, etc. directly to the administrator on duty.
Call and inform the administrator on duty in case of emergency.
Prepare tables and set up for all meals of the day.
Escort residents to dining room.
Prepare and deliver tray services if resident is unable to leave room for meals. Assist residents that are not able to eat on their own.
Ensure daily laundry is maintained for each resident. Bed linens are done weekly.
Ensure that residents rooms are neat, clean, and orderly.
Maintain cleanliness in all common areas, living rooms, kitchens, dining areas, courtyard, activity room, beauty salon etc.
Follow Wellness Coordinator direction regarding cleaning schedules and procedures.
Ensure that residents are informed and may attend planned activities in the common activity areas.
Spend quality time with residents, i.e. visiting residents in their room, painting nails, going on walks, outside fun, afternoon snacks & bingo etc. We are here to serve our residents; their happiness and health is our number one priority.
Adhere to all safety rules and practices. Attend all regular safety, staff, and training meetings. These meetings are mandatory and failure to attend can lead to an unexcused absence.
Maintain online state mandated annual caregiver training.
Maintain work accounts and communication.
Keep Wellness Coordinator up to date on all important matters regarding resident overall change in condition.
Other duties as assigned for the operation of the company, or resident need and safety.
Medication Management
Administer medication directly to residents as prescribed.
Supervise residents to ensure medications are taken.
Document medications administered to residents on residents MARS, including medication refusal, medication holds, etc
Reorder medications in a timely manner, i.e. PRN medication, narcotic medications that are not part of the monthly cycle.
Record newly delivered medication on centrally stored medication logs, maintaining an accurate LIC 622.
Maintain signed and updated Medication Verification Lists for each resident, i.e. residents file and emergency envelope.
Keep emergency envelopes updated and maintain two copies for each resident.
Maintain copies of all physician orders.
Manage medication records, i.e. medication verification list, centrally stored medication record, PRN letters, and MARS for all incoming residents.
Monitor residents for change of condition and communicate changes and concerns to the appropriate health care provider. Requesting specific orders, medication changes etc.
Documents all changes in residents medication records.
Maintain all State mandated medication training records annually.
NOC Shift Specific:
Wellness check at beginning of shift - check in with exiting caregiver to receive update/current status on each resident.
Perform wellness check on each resident, ensuring that residents are present and well.
Assist residents in night routine, i.e. tuck in routine, brushing teeth, putting on pajamas, etc.
Perform bedtime medpass and continuously monitor residents throughout NOC shift, providing PRN medicine as needed.
Throughout shift, check each resident every two hours

* Verbally communicates released/reported results. Routes, distributes and retransmits released/reported results. Stores and retrieves specimens.

Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Job Summary:
Collects blood specimens, as well as receives, handles and processes specimens for Laboratory testing. Receives, sorts and accessions specimens, assigning to appropriate pre-analytic and analytic workflow. Completes computerized tasks related to patient registration and/or test order entry, specimen collection, receiving and processing. Performs basic post-analytic tasks, including distributing reports, storing and/or retrieving specimens. Completes quality-related tasks such as documentation of work, maintaining a clean, stocked and safe work area, and monitoring pending work, as well as escalating priority work. Operates and/or uses basic pre-analytic lab equipment. * High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
* Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
* Experience in Phlebotomy in acute care environment: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
* Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPTI) license: Required
Facility Specific License/Certifications:
* Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
Essential Functions:
* Collects blood specimens for a variety of Laboratory tests using age-appropriate techniques; handles/transports Lab specimens and provides post-phlebotomy care to patients. Receives specimens for testing; assesses specimens upon receipt according to established criteria to determine acceptability and takes action according to protocol including escalating to licensed or certified personnel for direction. Handles and processes a variety of specimen types to prepare them for analysis; adheres to protocols to maintain specimen integrity at all times.
* Completes computerized tasks as appropriate for affiliate to ensure complete patient registration and/or test order entry into the lab information system, as well as generation of collection lists and/or labels. Prepares and/or packages specimens for transport to another Adventist Health or outside reference laboratory and may complete computer steps necessary for processing referred specimens.
* Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies in work area and/or on phlebotomy cart. Maintains required records by completing basic documentation of pre-analytic and post-analytic work, as well as quality-related tasks. Participates in managing the laboratory workflow by performing duties such as monitoring pending work, escalating priority work, locating specimens, and coordinating specimen recollections.
* Verbally communicates released/reported results. Routes, distributes and retransmits released/reported results. Stores and retrieves specimens.
* Receives incoming calls for the laboratory and assists the caller as appropriate or transfers these calls to the appropriate laboratory section or person. Communicates with customer to clarify ambiguous, unclear or duplicate test orders.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
