Summary:
The Laboratory Technician position is primarily responsible for processing customer samples at various stages throughout the laboratory operation in accordance with standard operating procedures. These duties can range from receiving/storing samples, prepping samples for DNA extraction, DNA extraction, and running DNA on various assays to generate data for customers. The Laboratory Technician will also participate in CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions) investigations that result in process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Process, store, and dispose of customer samples according to standard operating procedures.
Maintain supply inventory by using appropriate software to monitor material inventory levels.
Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment throughout the laboratory as needed.
Report deviations from Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), or unexpected results in a timely fashion, in accordance with the organization's CAPA SOPs.
Contribute ideas and participate in initiatives that will lead to continuous improvement of procedures.
This position may require long periods of sitting or standing and the ability to lift 20-30lbs.
Perform other duties as assigned by Team Lead or Laboratory Operations Manager.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
0-3+ years of relevant experience; Genetics or Manufacturing experience preferred.
Familiarity with GLP/GMP practices.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) applications.

The MedicalTechnologist I performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision. This role ensures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to quality control protocols and maintaining laboratory instruments. The MedicalTechnologist I supports patient care by completing tests efficiently, troubleshooting equipment, and assisting in data collection for regulatory compliance. Essential Functions
Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely reporting of results with appropriate documentation.
Adheres to quality control procedures by performing required checks, analyzing data, troubleshooting out-of-range results, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly instrument function checks and preventative maintenance according to laboratory policies and procedures.
Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions, attempting corrective actions or notifying the appropriate personnel or manufacturer as needed.
Ensures all laboratory procedures comply with safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to the Laboratory Safety Plan.
Communicates effectively with peers, supervisors, and other healthcare staff, providing timely updates on unusual patient results, instrument malfunctions, and quality control issues.
Assists with proficiency testing and data collection required for laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance.
Collects chain-of-custody urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy duties as required to support patient care needs.

* Has two years of directly related work experience, and

About the job:
Multi-skilled Technician under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet our patients and customers as they enter the store, identify patients' need to ensure an easy and memorable experience while providing promotional products and services available. Answer customers' inquiries and gather necessary information to facilitate sales.
Foster a strong partnership between the retail team and professional services.
Schedule and confirm appointments, enter new patient history and personal information in the system, complete pre-test; obtain brief medical history, complete noncontact tonometry auto refraction, visual acuity, color test, stereopsis test, amsler grid test, etc.
Assist Management Team with patient complaint resolution and inform the status of all jobs; ensure all patient expectations are met.
Ensure brand standards by performing basic housekeeping duties when necessary.
Execute simple customer repairs, assemble lenses into frames and edge stock lenses to expedite delivery of eyeglasses, and ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.
Ensure brand standards are met in the lab area, and notify management of equipment malfunctions, incomplete orders, incorrect lenses, etc.
Keep track of delivery time commitments to patients (Now Service, Ready When Promised) to ensure 100% compliance.

Key Qualifications
You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
You have 2+ years of experience delivering outstanding customer service to patients and/or customers.
You have the skills necessary to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people.
You implement active listening, build rapport, and empathize with the patients.
You remain proactive and execute problem solving skills to address potential patients concerns or rebuttals.
You have a collaborative spirit, while building respectful and cordial relationships with your team and patients.
