Nurses employed by the Hospital on or before September 1, 2014 with only an ASN/ADN, will be exempt from the requirement to obtain a BSN. Any nurse hired by the hospital from September 2, 2014 through April 15, 2019 will have 5 years / 60 months from date of hire to obtain a BSN. Any nurse who takes legally protected leave during any of the completion periods may have the period extended by a comparable amount of time. Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License BLS Certification upon hire. ACLS required within 9 months of hire for all ICU/ED RN's Oncology RN's-OCN certification or 12 credits of cancer related education per year. For all RN's working in the ICU / ED / 5th main, PALS required within 9 months of hire / transfer. TNCC within 12 months of transfer or hire for all ICU/ED/RNs. Must maintain TNCC/ATCN or an equivalent that is recognized by the American College of Surgeons. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements list must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. 5. Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required. Preferred: National Certification in area of practice Physical Requirements: Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. The screening procedures includes but are not limited to: assessing the self-administered health history, answering basic medical questions associated with the donation process, referring donors to medical staff when appropriate and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature. Performs finger stick to obtain sample to obtain donor's hematocrit and total protein levels. • Upon completion of the appropriate training, may educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma. This includes explaining the screening process, the health screening tests performed, the appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition and any other information pertinent to the donor. Ensures that all donor questions are answered timely, accurately and professionally. • May be involved in registering applicant and transfer donors based upon completion of appropriate training and operational needs of the center. • May answer the telephone and answer callers question or transfer call to appropriate staff member. • Maintains alertness and awareness to any reaction by a donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff. • Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues. • Ensures the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the SOPs. • Understands the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable. • Maintains clean efficient work environment and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.
