Short Description
A Nuclear MedicineTechnologist II ability to operate a PETCT and SPECT/CT unit under the guidelines of the State of NJ.
Maintains additional licensure to perform CT portion of the Nuclear Medicine exam with either an X-ray license of a NJDEP Limited or a Fusion Imaging CT Technology license.
All NM exams must be acquired and processed safe and efficiently as outlined in the department procedure manual. All studies must be of optimal standards. This includes general NM exams along with SPECT/CT and PETCT imaging.
Is responsible for completing all radiation safety measures in accordance with the hospital NJDEP Radioactive materials license.
Performs all quality control measures on all instrumentation as per manufacturer's guidelines.
Is able to assist physicians in radioactive therapeutic treatments in a safe manner according to Radiation Safety guidelines.
Is proficient in IV placement for procedures.

A MedicalTechnologist determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices. Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures.
Basic Requirements:
Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American MedicalTechnologists (AMT) or an equivalent Personnel, MLS, CLS certification with appropriate training and a minimum of one year of experience.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory or related science.
Must also have a completion of medical technology clinical practice program
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a high-volume medical facility. MedicalTechnologists must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Generalist. A generalist is defined as a MedicalTechnologist that can perform testing in all areas of the Clinical Laboratory, to include Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis.
Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience in Microbiology
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Ability to provide three (3) Supervisory references speaking directly to experience in this role.
Must be able to pass extensive credentialing process including criminal background check.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
Prior to being assigned regular duties, each MA/LMNA/MT shall successfully complete the community's and any State required orientation training program.

Monitors for changes in resident needs, preferences and health status. Reports/documents any noticed changes at once to the RN or designee.
Assisting Residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
Supervise or assist Residents with activity programs.

Assisting Residents with keeping their units neat, clean and orderly.
