Maine Family Planning is seeking part or full-time Medical Assistants to work at our sites in the Downeast locations; Ellsworth, Machias and Calais Travel is required for this position. We have a full-time position available at our Bangor location. We also have flexibility for candidates who are interested in per diem work, 2-4 days or 5 days a week. The work hours are Monday through Thursday, 9-5 and Friday, 8-4.
The Medical Assistant assists family planning providers in the delivery of administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner as required by the State of Maine. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor are required. Follows Maine Family Planning policies and clinical protocols.
Experience and Skill Requirements:The following experience and skills are considered essential:
1-2 years working in social/health services.
Ability to be organized, manage systems, computer skills.
Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and CLIA guidelines
Experience working with electronic medical records.
Commitment to family planning mission and values.
The following education requirements are considered essential:
Certification from a Medical Assistant Training Program preferred.
