Provides assistance in treatment rooms during minor surgical procedures and/or various diagnostic examinations by positioning and draping; may hold clamps or retractors, sponge vascular areas, and pass instruments as specifically directed by physician. Assures safety or patient during procedures and transport. May prepare and transport items such as medical equipment and laboratory specimens. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: Responsible for patient flow. Review daily clinical and surgical schedule and be able to anticipate appropriately Ensure exemplary patient care and patient service is provided at all times. Decontaminates all equipment, instruments and supplies and cleans room as directed in procedure. Ensure exam rooms and clinic are clean at all times Assist and anticipate the needs of the providers in clinical and surgical settings. Document clinical and surgical chart notes appropriately and accurately. Phone triage in a timely and appropriate manner Increase physician and/or provider's overall patient retention. Responsible for helping educate patients regarding cosmetic services recommended by the physician. Assists with events and seminars both in office and offsite venues as needed Other Duties: Completes projects, performs other duties and assumes various responsibilities as determined by management. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma required. Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required. Medical Assistant training is required. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant. Prior dermatology and cosmetic experience is required. Knowledge of medical dermatology terms/CPT, ICD-10 Knowledge of cosmetic products, procedures, and terminology Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Strong phone etiquette. Teamwork. Professional in appearance and mannerisms. Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co-workers. Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice. Strong organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience working on electronic medical records. Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross with AED). Completion of competency validation per Title 22 before starting duties. Proficient in English (oral, written, and comprehension).
