Responsibilities

Qualifications
Basic knowledge of MA and back-office procedures and medical terminology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Data Entry.
High School Diploma and Medical Assisting certificate from an accredited program required.
Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
Experience with EPIC or back-office is a plus!

The Scribe position is responsible for assisting the Urologist in accurately documenting and transcribing interactions between the patient and physician. The position works collaboratively with nursing and clerical staff to maintain efficient patient flow and performs other patient-related tasks as assigned by the physician. Also works to be personal and professional assistant to offer personalized support to the physician.
Responsibilities:
Accompanies physician into the patient examination room, in order to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician, including proper charting of the examination and recommendations for treatment.
Under direction of the physician, transcribes patient orders, including laboratory tests, and imaging results, e.g., urinalysis, renal ultrasounds, noting provider interpretation and order details

* Assist medical personnel with special procedures, minor surgical procedures, and/or diagnostic examinations.
* Apply principles of infection control practices adopted by Clinica Sierra Vista.
* Perform Venipuncture among other lab duties.
* Document pertinent patient information, nursing procedures, and patient response in the Electronic Health Records System (ERH), following established guidelines and maintaining patient confidentiality.
* Able to perform other duties as assigned and directed. Please see attachment for full .
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
* Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program Required.
* Possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Card required.
* Possess and maintain a California Driver's license.
* Venipuncture experience preferred at time of hire, competency must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date. Current staff must receive competency in venipuncture within one (1) year of the job descriptions revision date.
* Experience in EHR Documentation is highly desired.
* Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista's employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.
