Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Our clinical assistants have the responsibility for following standards of patient care in the clinic operations of each practice. They assist the providers in the immediate care of the patients and assists in clerical duties relating to patient care. Travel may be required throughout the SE Idaho region. Shift work, including weekends, may be required. The clinical assistants report directly to the Clinic Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Greets patients in a courteous and professional manner and escorts them to the appropriate exam room. Obtains all medical information per clinic policy and documents in the patient's record. Checks patient charts routinely for omissions. Assists in all procedures as directed by the clinic's medical providers. Completes all clinic lab tests per provider's order and clinic lab policy. Makes referral appointment calls for patients at provider's direction. Makes prescription calls for patients at provider's direction. Arranges for all patient diagnostic testing and follow-up appointments. Receives and disperses all diagnostic results and lab reports per clinic policy. Files all diagnostic results in patient's chart when appropriate. Maintains all lab control logs per lab policy. Maintains all clinic medical supplies inventory in conjunction with clinic manager. Maintains medication inventory including expiration date monitoring. Stocks and maintains medical exam rooms daily. Assures cleanliness of all exam rooms after each patient visit. Maintains sterilization of reusable medical equipment in conjunction with central sterile supply. Assures that all medical consents are signed and witnessed. Other duties as assigned by the clinic manager.
