Patient Registration Conduct patient registration, which includes securing required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verification of insurance and patient eligibility. Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status. Patient Preparation and Rooming Inform technical staff of patient flow. Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit; Perform preliminary physical test (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider as needed. Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider. Stocking Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed. Responsible for completing order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels; regularly check expiration dates on supplies. Administrative Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files. Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence. Ensure reception is well maintained. Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up. Perform opening and closing duties, which includes cashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building. Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed. Pay Range: $16.91 - $28.20 Assist physicians with medical procedures in office. Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance. Primary Key Performance Areas: * Responsible for performing proper quality control procedures before proceeding with patient testing. * Perform laboratory blood work. * Perform blood draws Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing. Provide diagnosis appropriate education as directed by the Nurse and/or Provider. What would you do? - The Specifics * Ensure high quality patient care. * Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of doctor's office and pretest room. * Understand ocular terminology and diseases and know the ocular abbreviations. * Explain to the patient the types of preliminary examinations. * Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing on patients prior to doctor examination. * Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients. * Perform exam pre-screening. * Review prescriptions and/or patient information carefully and identify special needs. Consult with the optician, Doctor or Retail Management when necessary. * Ensure equipment, both Doctor's and pre-test, is properly maintained.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION This position is part of the clinical team. This position is responsible for the initial interactions with patients, such as escorting patients, taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms and cleaning exam rooms after use, and other related duties. Responsible for moving patients through the clinic efficiently and effectively. Communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals to disseminate or explain information. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, updates medication lists and allergies at each visit, and enters information in electronic health record (EHR). * Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients; assures all rooms are clean and disposes of trash in rooms. * Maintains consistent patient flow by monitoring scheduling system. * Performs routine point of care testing. * Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Inventories medical supplies and materials. * Transports specimens, equipment, or supplies utilizing appropriate and safe techniques. * Supports all Providers in their care for patients. * Provide diagnosis appropriate education as directed by the Nurse and/or Provider. * Employees hired and trained in phlebotomy and radiology duties prior to 2024 are grandfathered in to perform these duties as a Medical Assistant I. * If working in Long Term Care, responsible for registration and insurance related collection, entry, and verification as well as scanning documents in the electronic medical record. * Performs all duties, services, and documentation in full compliance with CHC/SEK policies and procedures.
