What You'll Be Doing
Escorting patient to exam room; obtaining vitals, past/present medical history, and current medication list
Effectively communicating allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients
Administering subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
Conducting thorough and accurate spirometry testing
Performing all testing and treatment in accordance with Aspire Allergy's protocols and safety measures
Navigating EHR system to record accurate patient health information
Serving patients & visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately
Assist in answering incoming and outgoing phone calls and providing accurate information
Tracking clinical inventory and resupply when needed
Ensuring all of end of day reports and logs are accurate and complete
Following all HIPAA rules and regulations including confidentiality of patient information
Adhering to Aspire Allergy's protocols and safety measures
Adhering to OSHA requirements including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines
Willingness to be cross-trained in a variety of both front and back-office duties to provide full cycle clinic support. Those front office duties are to include, but are not limited to:
Become proficient in the Practice Management (PM) side of our Electronic Health Record.
Obtain CT authorizations.
Scan patient documents and medical records and attach them to charts.
Check patients in, including obtaining correct information such as demographics, PCP, contact and insurance information.
Checking patients out, including taking payment.
Communicating an Out of Pocket Max for a patient.
Sending End of Day emails to appropriate parties.
Scheduling patient appointments.
Enrolling patients in treatment of choice.
Requirements
Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology
Must possess exceptional customer service skills
Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate
Must be able to administer subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
Must be able to manually take patient vital signs
Must possess the ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public
Must possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation
Ability to travel among clinics in your region required
Required education and experience
Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred education and experience
Completed Medical Assistant Program or Degree
1+ Years of Medical Assistant Experience
1+ Years of Medical Receptionist Experience
Medical Assistant Certificate, vocational nurse license or related experience
Current CPR Certification

Job Description

PREPARES PATIENT FOR PHYSICIAN ENCOUNTER by recording vital statistics, symptoms, and reviewing medications list, all histories and updating accordingly.
PROVIDES STAFF SUPPORT by performing ordered simple treatments under the direction of ordering provider; collecting and processing laboratory specimens; providing timely completion of assigned tasks.
ASSURES PATIENT SAFETY by observing and reporting any unusual behavior, condition or concerns. Complies with and actively supports all applicable workplace environmental health and safety policies, work rules and practices, giving maximum effort to performing job functions in a manner that protects the health and safety of the incumbent, co-workers and the general public.

ADHERES TO INFECTION CONTROL STANDARDS AND PRACTICES by implementing aseptic and sterile techniques when required, using personal protective equipment as required; demonstrating proper instrument cleaning, sterilization and storage.
ASSISTS PATIENTS AND FAMILIES by assessing communication barriers, providing translation services as assigned and assisting with completion of clinic paperwork; communicating in a professional manner with patents/families, maintaining confidentiality and treating patients/ family members with respect.
ASSISTS CLINIC'S LEAD MEDICAL ASSISTANT AND CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER by assuring adequate medical supplies and equipment; maintaining sufficient exam room supplies daily and by notifying appropriate staff timely when medical supplies are needed.
MAINTAINS AND UPDATES SKILLS by continuing education by attending seminars related to job responsibilities; attending required in-house trainings.
CONTRIBUTES TO THE TEAM EFFORT by performing related tasks as needed; participating regularly in team meetings, daily huddles and monthly QA/PI meetings; demonstrating positive working relationships and communications with team members; performing additional duties as assigned such as making contact on a periodic basis with patients who are flagged for reminder/recall, assuring they receive timely follow up depending upon their diagnoses, age and the services for which they are due and facilitating post-hospital discharge follow-up.
PERFORM other duties as assigned and which are deemed necessary or desirable by LCDN.
