What You'll Do:
Maintain and update patient medical records, including vital signs, treatments, and medications, and review immunization records.
Prepare for patient visits by reviewing files, ensuring necessary reports are available, and collaborating with Providers for efficient scheduling and continuity of care
Prepare and maintain exam rooms, explain procedures to patients, provide education and coaching, respond to patient questions and concerns, and assist physicians during exams and procedures
Collect and prepare lab specimens, administer medication, and perform other assigned clinical responsibilities
Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or GED
Completion of either an accredited medical assisting program from CAAHEP or ABHES (720 Medical Assistant training hours, including 160-hour externship), an approved apprentice program, 720 hours of Medical Assistant college education, equivalent military training, or current MA or eligibility for certification
One year's experience as a CMA is preferred
CPR certification
National credential from AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT within 90 days of hire
Bilingual (English/Spanish, Cantonese, & Vietnamese) candidates qualify for bilingual differential with a level 10 score on the language test
Medical knowledge for understanding theories, reasons, and technical aspects of medicine
Strong people skills to handle diverse personalities, backgrounds, and situations
Excellent multitasking ability to manage varied workloads

Enter laboratory and radiographic studies, as ordered by the provider
Enter in medication orders, as dictated by the provider
Document and print instructions for the patient
Review completed charts with the provider between patients or at the completion of shift
Update provider preference and clinic preference documents as necessary
Education and Skills
Excellent verbal and written English skills
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate new software quickly

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 1-year of previous experience as a Caregiver or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting (experience may depend on state requirements)
Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and other staff members

Must complete Medication Aide training (and certification in states where required)
Essential Functions:
Provides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including; pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentation
Assists in maintaining the medication cart and storage room in a neat and orderly manner
Accepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for the security of the medication cart and medication storage room for assigned shifts
May be called upon to assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility, as needed
Engages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care and medication assistance
Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary
Upholds Residents' Rights at all times
Supports and upholds all company policies and care philosophy
Observes residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse
Completes all documentation such as medication administration records, incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, and in a timely manner
Assists in the dining room during resident meal times as needed
Encourages residents to participate in scheduled activities and outings, and provides residents with opportunities for self-expression and enhanced self-esteem through spontaneous individual or small group interaction and activity
May be called upon to assist with Caregiver housekeeping responsibilities.

Medical transcriptionist job in Hillsboro, OR
Pay range: $24.02/hr - $33.37/hr plus 5% MA certification differential if applicable
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting providers with specific patient procedures relevant to each clinic and ensuring the delivery of quality care to patients in accordance with individual needs, physician orders and standards of care, as represented through patient care policies. Must be able and willing to handle all front and back-office tasks within the clinic according to established procedures and protocols, as to provide a seamless experience for the patient.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -
Performed majority of the time --
· Schedules patient appointments using EMR and within provider guidelines. Checks in patients to include gathering patient information, entering into computer, handles insurance information and collects co-pays appropriately.
· Checks out patients to include addressing any additional patient concerns or needs.
· Obtains prior medical records and studies if appropriate.
· Documents data (i.e. vital signs, weights) on patient charts to communicate with team members Responds to correspondence as appropriate, by telephone and/or in writing.
· Maintains organized work area.
· Sends copies of chart notes to primary care physicians as needed.
· Assists patients to exam rooms.
· Contacts patients with lab and x-ray results and documents phone calls.
· Obtains specimens and performs laboratory work and documents data in patient record.
· Performs injections, venipuncture, EKG.
· Keeps exam rooms orderly and clean between patients.
· Prepares exam room/minor surgery for procedures.
· Assists the physician with sterile, wound management, and in-office procedure(s).Performs sterile processing of instruments, as needed.
· Performs opening and closing procedures in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
· Communicates information to patients according to protocols.
· Provides patient education as appropriate to situation.
· Promotes accident prevention and reports potential hazards to maintain a safe environment.
· Responds to emergency situations and contacts emergency services as needed.
· Reviews/updates patient medications.
· As directed by the provider(s), performs or assists with procedures specific to the clinic.
· Initiates Delegated Protocols as appropriate.
· Performs limited x-ray (certification required).
· Trains and mentors Clinical Assistants

· Attends monthly staff meeting.
