Job Summary
Transplant APC (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) Provides inpatient/outpatient/OR based both primary and specialty medical services for the division of Transplantation and Advanced Hepatobiliary Surgery.
This position is responsible for providing both primary and specialty medical services. This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.
Responsibilities
Takes complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic and community physicians.
First and second assist in the OR
Performs physical examinations.
Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures.
Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions.
Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physician to provide optimal patient medical management.
Participates in continuing medical education to include specialty and sub-specialty meetings, clubs, boards and conferences.
Assists in the collection of data for research projects.
Orders consultations and interacts with members of other specialty medical teams.
Participates in special projects and committee functions.
Procedures: Line placement/removal, wound care, paracentesis, first and second assist

Responsibilities
Essential Functions: The scribe should be able to accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician, including but not limited to: Patient medical history and physical exam Procedures and treatments performed by the physician Entering orders for lab tests, imaging studies and referrals to other providers in the electronic medical record system During times when there are not scribe responsibilities, the individual will work on research data entry or analysis for the physician in support of his research mission.
