Assists physicians/providers with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Sterilization and set up of instruments. Prepares examination rooms and instruments. Stocks supplies. Effectively provides explanations and educates patient's families regarding treatments and interventions. Schedules patients for testing procedures. Obtains test results and ensures that lab reports, x-rays and other Information is in the medical record prior to the appointment and scanned in the medical record according to office guidelines. Authorizes and faxes to pharmacy requests for refills per provider instruction. Ensures routine medical office duties are completed as assigned, to include, emptying waste baskets, cleaning and disinfecting exam room counters and exam tables, ordering medical supplies, equipment controls - daily, weekly, and monthly. Ensures that all aspects of patient care and observations are documented, accurately and timely. Communication Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers. Returns Phone calls in a timely manner. Relays messages to appropriate staff members through In Basket of EMR. Efficient with working in EMR and the in Basket within EMR.
