Summary
Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
Responsibilities
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including scanning, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Round with patients in practice to ensure Excellent Patient Experience is met.
Under the supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs, height and weight, takes brief history on current illness or injury, current medications, allergies, required screenings, and other pertinent information as appropriate.
Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care provided. Provides discharge instructions and follows-up with patient as needed. Recognizes and seeks help in emergent situations.
Manages and facilitates all in-basket messages and patient phone calls.
Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, including phlebotomy, splint application and procedural tray/room set-up.
Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning/disinfection per protocol, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
Reviews patient charts to ensure imaging is available and all pertinent information to maximize appointment.
Follow-up on reported issues and assists with service recovery.
Reviews/Documents Social Determinants. Provides education/resources as needed.
Activates of My Chart Accounts where appropriate. Ensures Telehealth connectivity for scheduled appointments and trouble shoots as needed.

* Provide strong customer service, responding quickly and appropriately to patient needs, and being prepared to manage potentially difficult or emotional situations.
* Communicate with peers, clinicians, and patients in ways that support patient care and clinician satisfaction.
Patient Support:
* Assist psychiatric clinicians with necessary aspects of patient care including prior authorizations, lab orders, letters for patients, records requests, coordination of needed patient forms/paperwork (i.e. FLMA)
* Facilitate communication as needed between the patient, medical staff and the patient's pharmacy
* Manage phone systems: Answer incoming calls to medical services line and provide patient support with medication related questions, refill requests, release requests, appointment reschedules, miscellaneous inquires, etc.
* Ensure accuracy of patient pharmacy information in the medical record
* Scan all hard copy correspondence into patient's EHR record
* Assist patients with telehealth access, Patient Portal issues, and other troubleshooting as needed.
* Immediately handle any urgent requests; triage patient issues and resolution, i.e., direct to correct departments or escalate for assistance.
* Assist in coordination of external referrals for patient care
Clinician Support:
* Provide general clinician support - assist clinicians with administrative questions and/or duties such as sending letters, faxes, etc.
* Coordinate with clinicians pertaining to any additional patient questions.
* Aid psychiatric clinicians in termination process for patients as needed (i.e. termination letter, external referral, AMD status, etc.)
Required Skills/Abilities:

Maintains and documents required records in EMR, including but not limited to patient records, daily logs, and monthly/quarterly reports. Performs quantity and quality control checks to ensure X-ray unit meets standards required by rules & state regulations, and departmental policies. Complies with safety standards including using a dosimetry badge while performing x-rays.
Cleans, maintains and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment servicing and repairs.
Maintains and orders radiographic supplies as necessary

Education:
Completion of a Limited X-ray Operator or Limited Licensed Radiology Course from an accredited program with appropriate license/certification per state laws

Certifications:

Provides direct supervision to Direct Care staff of the shift. The degree of supervision may vary according to the shift assigned.
