The CMA will support medical and behavioral health providers in managing patient care, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment, and maintaining clinical operations. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care and Support: Assist in the delivery of Suboxone and other medication-assisted treatment (MAT), adhering to regulatory guidelines. Prepare patients for medical and behavioral health evaluations, including obtaining vital signs, weight, and relevant health history. Provide compassionate and nonjudgmental care to individuals with substance use and mental health conditions. Clinical Duties: Administer medications under the supervision of licensed providers, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with protocols. Perform routine clinical tasks such as blood draws, point-of-care testing, urine drug screens, and EKGs. Ensure exam rooms and medical equipment are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient encounters. Coordination of Care: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including behavioral health clinicians, primary care providers, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care. Support patients in navigating treatment plans, appointments, and follow-up care. Monitor and document patient progress in line with SAIOP/SACOT program requirements. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and communicate effectively with patients and external providers. Ensure compliance with confidentiality and privacy standards, including HIPAA. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Adhere to clinic policies, protocols, and procedures, including those related to controlled substances. Participate in ongoing training on MAT, SAIOP/SACOT protocols, and acute care standards. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the clinic. Qualifications: Certification: Active CMA certification through an accredited program (AAMA, NHA, or equivalent). Experience: Prior experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or primary care preferred. Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse patient populations. Proficiency in clinical skills, including phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic diagnostic testing. Knowledge of MAT protocols, SAIOP/SACOT program frameworks, and acute care procedures. Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical software.
