Perform distribution-related functions (receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads). Operate forklift. Ensure load matches order prior to vehicle exiting yard. Perform customer service activities. Material Handlers have broad in-depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations. Possess alertness and adaptation to warehouse routines. Understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Follow safety programs and ensure compliance of OSHA regulation. Material Handlers demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Responsible for renewing licenses or certifications as required and reporting status of licenses or certifications to the Location Manager. * Ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends, work required overtime, and on-call as business conditions warrant. * Occasionally exposed or required to: * Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) * Noisy conditions * Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards, requiring utilization of appropriate safety measures * May be required to work at varying heights * Lift 51 - 70 lbs. * Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
