The Metrologist is primarily responsible for designing and building test fixtures, establishing measurement methods, and performing measurement system analysis. This role requires proven experience with OGP (Zone 3) programming as a critical skill. The position will support engineering and production projects and processes relating to Metrology. In addition, the role will support all aspects of quality assurance including first article inspection generation, capability studies, DOE, developing procedures, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions. Responsibilities: Adheres to Viant Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements. Design and develop new gaging and fixturing for part measurement. Program and optimize inspection routines using OGP (Zone 3) software to support injection molded and assembled components. Program inspection routines to support injection molded and assembled components. Assess and implement improvements of production and NPI inspections routines and fixtures to increase throughput. Participate in review of manufacturing and testing of new products to assure quality requirements are fulfilled. Provide training as needed on new procedures being enforced. Support Inspection Function, training employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure compliance to procedures and policies. Own CAPA, Complaints, Calibration OOT and Non-Conformance events from initiation to closure. Responsible for generating Inspection sheets and control plans to meet customer drawing and specification requirements. Assures compliance to in-house and external specifications and standards, such as GMPs and ISO regulations. Interface with customers, vendors, and 3rd party assessors, as needed. Support Internal, Customer and Regulatory body audits as needed. Other projects and tasks as assigned. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field Experience / Knowledge: 5+ years of experience in injection molding or similar manufacturing industry. Proven experience working as a Metrologist, including calibration, inspection, and maintenance of precision measuring instruments. Proven experience programming and operating OGP (Optical Gauging Products) systems using Zone 3 software, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), and other precision measuring devices used to ensure product quality and compliance. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. Strong understanding of GD&T requirements and their application in manufacturing and inspection processes. Ability to perform various computer-related tasks using programs including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite - SolidWorks - Minitab - ETQ - IQMS - Infinity QS - MEASUREMIND - Zone3 CALYPSO Strong organizational abilities with a proven track record of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Solid understanding of QMS regulations, including complaint handling, NCR (Non-Conformance Reports), containment, and root cause analysis. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and direction for all aspects of Meals on Wheels Orange County (MOWOC). Reporting to a 16-member Board of Directors, the CEO will oversee the $20 million budget. The direct reports to the CEO are the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer, Chief Development Officer, Vice President of Care Services, Vice President of Social Services, Vice President of Food Services, Senior Director of Human Resources, and Executive Assistant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Strategic Planning & Execution Drives the development and execution of the organization's strategic vision, aligning short- and long-range goals with the mission and Board priorities. Identifies and pursues programmatic and social enterprise growth opportunities to expand the organization's impact and reach. Monitors and evaluates program outcomes to measure success and inform decision-making. Fosters a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout the organization. Fiscal Oversight & Administration In partnership with the Chief Financial Officer, leads the annual budget process and ensures fiscal health through robust budget management. Ensures strict oversight of government and health care funding compliance and ensures strong accounting and operational controls are in place. Mitigates organizational risk by proactively managing legal and regulatory matters, leveraging internal and external expertise as needed. Serves as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization, building public awareness of its mission and impact. In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, develops and implements comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and events. Cultivates and maintains key relationships with government officials, industry leaders, donors, and other community partners to advance the mission and secure sustainable funding. Represents MOWOC at public events, conferences, collaboratives, and in media opportunities. Provides direction and leadership, modeling organizational values and a high standard of professional ethics. Candidates from various sectors such as nonprofit, government, for-profit, senior care, hunger relief, social enterprise, assisted living, public policy or food services will be considered. Candidates should have wisdom and prudence in financial resource deployment and sufficient fiscal management experience to be conversant with the fiduciary responsibilities of a complex organization. Familiarity with the process and accountability required for government funding is helpful. Demonstrated success in fundraising, strategic planning, innovation and transformational change, and board relations will be highly valued. A proven record of building and sustaining effective partnerships with diverse constituencies, including businesses, government officials and entities, community organizations, private foundations and donors, and other community partners is also highly valued. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on solving complex tooling challenges while mentoring a skilled team. You'll spend time both supervising and performing advanced repairs. You'll have the autonomy to shape tool room processes, influence continuous improvement initiatives, and develop your team's technical capabilities Work on over 300 precision molds, including hot runner systems and high-performance materials like PEEK and glass-filled resins-where your expertise makes the difference between downtime and production success. Lead by example-perform repairs, coach team members, and set priorities to keep production moving Key Responsibilities: Perform and oversee complex mold repairs, including welding, EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), polishing, and fitting. Troubleshoot mold issues and implement corrective actions to restore functionality and extend mold life. Ensure molds are production-ready and meet quality and dimensional standards. Supervise and support a team consisting of a Mold Cleaner, Machinist, and Mold Engineer. Prioritize daily tasks and allocate resources to meet production and maintenance schedules. Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to team members. Proper tracking and documention of all mold repair activities and associated costs. Collaborate with the Quoting Department to prepare accurate repair quotes for customer-owned molds. Ensure repair revenue offsets tool room operational costs, including this role's salary. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and documentation. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in mold performance and tool room efficiency. Maintain accurate records of mold history, repairs, and modifications. Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to align mold readiness with production needs. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers regarding mold condition and repair status Qualifications and skills: 5-10 years of experience in injection mold maintenance and repair At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role or relevant tasks. Strong hands-on experience with complex molds, including hot runner systems and high-temperature materials. Proficient in EDM operation, surface grinding, and mold fitting. Familiarity with mold design, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools. Experience with mold materials such as PEEK, glass-filled resins, and other engineering-grade plastics. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's or Technical Degree in Tool & Die, Mold Making, or related field.
