**A Day in the Life**
We are seeking a committed professional to join our team. While this is a remote position not located at a physical Medtronic site, the candidate hired will be required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver's license is essential for this role.
At Medtronic, the Clinical Specialist Manager, Pain Interventions partners with the District Sales Manager(s) in achieving unit/revenue goals and enhancing customer satisfaction by effectively managing the district's clinical team. The CSM is fully competent clinically and will provide case, customer and patient support while facilitating cross-district and cross-region collaboration on to resolve resource constraints.
This is a **field based** role.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Manages and coaches district clinical employees through the utilization of field visits, individual or group meetings, and telephone contacts to accomplish the following objectives:
Alignment
- Partners to ensure coordinated sales and clinical efforts across the district, driving clinical efficiencies including case coverage where necessary
- Schedules resources for clinical events working closely with the District Manager. Resources may be drawn from other regions as necessary
- Ensures all direct reports have annual/quarterly objectives and implement a regular schedule of evaluating performance, providing feedback and coaching, and documenting performance needs and achievements; implement performance improvement plans, if needed
- Communicates corporate, division, region and/or district mission, goals and activities
Coaching
- Directs and motivates employees to achieve clinical, unit and revenue goals
- Provides ongoing feedback/coaching and regular performance and development discussions with employees
- Implements corrective actions where necessary
- Documents field visits with employees with actions observed and suggestions for improvement for the individual CS
- Adheres to, communicate, and reinforce Medtronic policies and business conduct standards
Training/Development
- Oversees the training and development of Clinical Specialists in product knowledge and competitive knowledge
- Coaches and advises employees on teamwork, time and task management, and career development
- Assists employees with the creation and ongoing implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDP's)
- Identifies clinical opportunities through the use of analytics and/or field visits
- Addresses clinical opportunities through coaching or the development of specific measurable projects
- Coordinates, develops, and implements strategies to achieve short and long-term business objectives especially related to clinical activities
- Ensures efficient and effective scheduling of case coverage for the district including case coverage where necessary
- Provides direction to employees regarding the management of assets, expenses, budgets, etc.
- Performs administrative tasks related to cost center management, expenses, email, and other communication activities
- Ensures personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable
- Follows all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high quality work
- Partners with the District Sales Manager and HR to recruit and hire top candidates for open positions
- Continually works to maintain a strong, diverse personnel "bench" of candidates for use in future hiring opportunities
- Other duties as assigned by District Manager

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

* Maintain pulse on regional trends and closely coordinate regional marketing education and engagement plans with cross functional partners to ensure heightened KOL and customer engagement strategies that are fully aligned to the Brand strategic imperatives.

Job Requirements
* BA/BS Degree Required; advanced degree preferred.
* Minimum 6 years of experience in marketing, key account management, medical, sales leadership, sales training, or field sales engaging with KOLs/Influential HCPs and professional healthcare organizations.
* Deep understanding and experience working cross functionally with various key internal & external partners with a strong ability to innovate, collaborate and deliver results with desired outcomes.
* Demonstrated understanding of key industry trends and ability to develop strategies to stay ahead of the competition and improve patient outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to build and manage relevant and lasting customer relationships with strong focus on patient impact and outstanding customer centricity.
* Travel can be up to 65%; this includes internal meetings, advisory boards, medical meetings, congresses, and select program attendance.

The Oncology Specialist (OS) in the CAR-T franchise is a Field Based role reporting to a District Manager. The OS has primary responsibility for developing the relationship with CARYKTI Certified Treatment Centers (CTCs) in their respective territory and serves as the CTC's primary point of contact with J&J. In this role, the OS is responsible for driving appropriate utilization of J&J's CAR-T therapy within the account and ensuring the delivery of a seamless customer experience. Additionally, the OS is responsible for calling on community practices and stakeholders in the Relapse Refractory Multiple Myeloma (RRMM) market. The OS will deliver awareness and education on the product and referral process to these appropriate community stakeholders. As the OS you will:
+ Fulfill sales strategies by selling current and potential new oncology therapeutics.
+ Demonstrate a working knowledge of the products' clinical efficacy, provide clinical support/information as needed, and achieve their sales quota.
+ Conduct business analysis, actively prospect for new business within assigned territory, develop account strategies with District Manager to increase sales in the assigned territory (i.e., identifies key accounts, HCPs, develops specific plans for penetration).
+ Develop customer specific pre- and post-call plans that include objectives, probes and supporting materials.
+ Build customer dedication and identify and cultivate new relationships. Influence decision-makers by delivering a targeted sales message based on accurate clinical information, uses approved sales and marketing materials, and executes marketing strategies at the local level

+ Works in close collaboration with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Operations, Quality, and other internal stakeholders to ensure all customer needs are addressed. May work in collaboration with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services.
+ Provide all insights to the cross functional team on appropriate and timely feedback from interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs), including account business trends and potential changes in therapeutic landscape.
+ Routinely meet with key clinical, financial, & operational CTC stakeholders to educate on the use of J&J's CAR-T therapy and communicate the latest approved messaging and clinical data.
+ Can navigate a complex account environment and understand the needs/issues of various stakeholders at all levels within the account and triage to appropriate internal stakeholders for support.
+ Provide exemplary customer service while cultivating relationships. Actively participates in grassroots advocacy / engagement activities within the territory to align with regional and national initiatives.
+ Develop an understanding of the issues and opportunities unique to your assigned geography. + Strong relationship building skills and the ability to identify key decision makers
+ Possess strong achievement motivation to meet and exceed goals
+ Residing in the geography or be willing to relocate to it.
