Jennifer L. Kerestan is Chief Clinical Officer for MedVet, a position she’s held since 2017. In this role, she leads the Clinical Services team, consisting of our talented technicians, assistants, and client service representatives. In this capacity, she works alongside her dyad partner, the Chief Medical Officer, to optimize the Healthcare Team’s delivery of the MedVet Experience to patients, clients, and Referral Partners. Jennifer was previously the Chief Operations Officer. Prior to joining MedVet in 2011, Jennifer was the Director of Operational Excellence at Cardinal Health. She began her career at Henry County Hospital as Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation; a role in which she was responsible for launching their cardiac rehab program. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, followed by a Master of Science degree from East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. She earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

Nick Madias, MBA, PMP is Chief Information Officer of MedVet. He joined the organization in April 2019. In this role, he is responsible for the organization’s information technology, leading the teams responsible for application development, analytics, infrastructure, and technology service support. As their Corporate Director of IT, he led numerous large-scale initiatives aligning business goals with technology solutions to drive process improvements and competitive advantage while ensuring a stable IT operating environment. Before that, he led IT Project Management and Business Systems.

Dennis Maher

Dennis Maher is Chief Operations Officer at MedVet, a role he assumed in April 2021. In this role, he has accountability for various support service functions vital to supporting our healthcare team as they deliver exceptional care and service. These functional areas include operations, purchasing, real estate, facilities, pricing, and Quality & Regulatory Assurance. Dennis brings a wealth of healthcare experience to the Chief Operations Officer role. Most recently, Dennis served as the VP of Supply Chain and Support Services at UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin. Prior to that, Dennis spent more than 10 years with Sutter Health where he led a supply chain and operations transformation. He was recognized nationally for this work with this organization in 2016. Dennis also served in supply chain, purchasing, operations, and systems services roles at the University of Vermont Medical Center, University Hospital Health System in Cleveland, and Washington Hospitals Center in Washington, DC.

Jeff D. Brourman

Jeff D. Brourman, DVM, MS, DACVS-SA is our Chief Growth Officer for MedVet. Dr. Brourman completed his undergraduate studies and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. During veterinary school, he received the Ohio State University Excellence in Small Animal Surgery Award in 1997. He next pursued a small animal internship at Michigan State University where he earned the Intern of the Year Award in 1998. He then returned to Ohio State for an intensive three-year surgical residency where he earned the Ohio State University Hospital Service Award and the Graduate Resident Award for Excellence in Clinical Research. During residency training, he also earned a Master’s of Science degree. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Brourman worked at one of the largest private veterinary referral hospitals in the country and passed his surgery board examination to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Michael Podell

Michael Podell, DVM, MSc, Diplomate, DACVIM (Neurology) serves as the Chief Medical Officer for MedVet. Previously he served as the Senior Medical Officer of MedVet. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Podell ensures the Medical Services team has the necessary resources and tools to deliver the highest quality, most compassionate specialty and emergency veterinary care to our patients, clients, and Referral Partners. Along with supporting the team, he is responsible for the healthy growth of our hospitals in the Midwest and Dallas-Fort Worth regions. Dr. Podell is also passionate about enhancing the wellbeing of our Healthcare team to improve their work-life harmony. Dr. Podell’s commitment to education began at the University of North Carolina in 1980, where he received the first of many academic achievements, a Bachelor of Art in Biology and Psychology with Honors. Immediately following graduation, he attended Tel-Aviv University, and was awarded a Master of Science in Physiology and Pharmacology. In 1988, Dr. Podell earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts University. He then completed an internship in small animal medicine at The Animal Medical Center in New York City, followed by a residency in neurology at The Ohio State University.
