A Weld Inspector is responsible for overseeing all the welds and to ensure everything is in proper working manner. A welding inspector's job is to make sure that the welders' work meets or exceed Eagle Crusher weld standards, track and inform supervisors of non-conformances in a timely and efficient manner, and help coach and teach weld shop team members where necessary.

Current CWI certificate or ability to train and obtain CWI certificate within 120 days of taking position.

Job Overview:
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting materials and products, providing quality support through knowledge of inspection procedures and tools, identify deviations, work with production team members to document non-conforming materials, and communicate with teams within in a manufacturing facility. A Quality Inspector works with a team to ensure all products meet established quality standards. The ideal candidate is adaptable, a team player, a great communicator, and can meet deadlines by prioritizing multiple tasks/projects.
Responsibilities:
* Perform inspection of in-house production, vendor supplied parts, or final products
* Interpret engineering drawings/specifications and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
* Identify and document defects, deviations, or non-conforming items
* Operate Positive Material Identification (PMI) Gun to check materials against specifications
* Ensure inspection tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained and report issues
* Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and achieve daily and monthly targets
* Perform quality checks by established quality procedures and ISO requirements
* Maintain accurate records of inspection results, quality control data, and non-conforming products. Generate reports and documentation as required

Job Description
Position Summary & Objective
Responsible for examining materials, parts, and component parts for quality purposes to identify defects and to ensure they are in compliance with specifications.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
Disassemble, clean, and inspect machine sub-assemblies and components for cracks, wear, and dimensional integrity.
Inspects and tests completed assemblies and their subassemblies, performing a variety of related duties.
Verifies dimensions of parts and location of holes, grooves, and other points according to blueprints using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and height and depth gauges.
Connects assembly to power sources and determines functionality.
Assist in general machine repair/mechanic duties (e.g., reassembly of press sub-assemblies) as workload dictates.
Creates part disposition prints for engineers including hand drawn sketches and blueprints, as necessary.
Qualifications
Prior inspection experience preferred.
Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation.
Ability to develop a working hand sketch of a part and obtain dimensions for engineering.
Ability to write neatly, legibly, and maintain neat and orderly inspection records.
Proficiency with calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring and inspection equipment.
Ability to use hand and power tools, torches, cranes, and forklifts.
Good understanding of shop operations and processes.
Proficiency in shop math to calculate angles and dimensions.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, technically inclined, and detail oriented.
Good communication skills with other skilled team members.
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and working environment.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years of relevant experience.
