    The Irrigation Foreman is responsible for the install and maintenance projects. The foreman is responsible for completing these projects with great precision and business minded efficiency. Overseeing crews ranging in size from one to ten depending on the job type and size. Primary Functions Direct Activities on the job site, they include but are not limited to: Coordinating work flow, hands on work, and operating machinery. Manage personnel effectively and efficiently. Communicating production goals and other items with crew members, lead Gardners, and Customers. Train and promote the development of crew members in the best practices of installation and company standards. Monitor all tools, equipment and machinery for the needed maintenance and installation. Track and record all job expenses, including but not exclusively hours and materials used. Ensures that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment. Participates in and conducts all job site safety meetings with the crew. Ability to drive a pickup truck and tow a single or double axel trailer. Ensures that all crew members utilize the required personal protective equipment (PPE). Understands and instructs crew members on proper job site security procedures Ensures that all installation and maintenance work is performed in accordance with company standards. Ensures that all equipment and safety procedures are followed. Performs administrative functions pertaining to crew members. Interacts with customers to ensure job satisfaction. Supervises all crew members during the performance of all assigned work. Works with crew members on site to ensure a good healthy working environment. Leads by example Reports for work at the assigned location and time each day. Ensures that all safety rules and company safety policies are followed. Participates in safety training sessions, always try to improve safety on the job site. Communicates clearly with the customer in Spanish or English whatever is needed to complete the communication chain. Strives to improve his or her job skills for potential upward mobility Tracks and records all job expenses and hours accurately. Ensures the office personnel have the correct paperwork for each job. Train crew members the best practices of installation and maintenance in the company standards. Know and component in the completion of all the tasks and responsibilities of the Gardner and the Lead Gardner. Ability to read and understand Architectural drawings and implement these drawings on a job site. Ability to understand and install Low Voltage lighting and Irrigation materials. Ensure the proper function of both. Repair irrigation and low voltage problems to create a safe and beautiful landscape. Trained in basic first aid requirements. Know how to identify hazardous situations and eliminate them on a job site. Applies pesticides and herbicides to the landscape area. Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing and or pulling. Frequent climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling crouching, and or crawling. Generally, the job requires 5% sitting, 45% standing, and 50% walking. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and or illness. Requirements Ability to work in all weather conditions. California Drivers License and the ability to tow a single or double axel trailer. Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens, and trees. Identification and cultural requirements. Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detailed oriented Verbal and written skills, basic computer skills. Professional licensure process is close to completion; LEED accreditation preferred. Minimum 6 years of experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish is preferred. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead project teams and manage project schedule, budget and program. Strong verbal and written communication skills. General understanding of both urban planning / design and sustainable strategies and principles including familiarity with LEED or other green building rating systems. Understands and is conversant in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, parametric and rendering software, and other graphic software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, Adobe Suite and Google Workspace.
