Staff Software Engineer, AI Product
The Browser Company
Member, technical staff job in New York, NY
Hi, we're The Browser Company 👋 and we're building a better way to use the internet.
Browsers are unique in that they are one of the only pieces of software that you share with your parents as well as your kids. Which makes sense, they're our doorway to the most important things - through them we socialize with loved ones, work on our passion projects, and explore our curiosities. But on their own, they don't actually do a whole lot, they're kind of just there. They don't help us organize our messy lives or make it easier to compose our ideas. We believe that the browser could do so much more - it can empower and support the amazing things we do on the internet. That's why we're building one: a browser that can help us grow, create, and stay curious.
To accomplish this lofty task, we're building a diverse team of people from different backgrounds and experiences. This isn't optional, it's crucial to our mission, as we need a wide range of perspectives to challenge our assumptions and shape our browser through a bold, creative lens. With that in mind, we especially encourage women, people of color, and others from historically marginalized groups to apply.
As a Product Engineer at The Browser Company, you'll play a key role in shaping novel AI features in Dia that redefine how users engage with the browser's core primitives - tabs, history, navigation, and more - so browsing feels effortless and work feels easier. You'll transform ambiguous goals into elegant solutions and set new standards for browser-based AI. We're looking for someone who is product-minded, deeply curious, grounded in user experience, and excited to define new ways of building AI products - ways that feel polished, intuitive, and delightful.
Product Engineering at The Browser Company is a place for creative exploration and rapid prototyping. We go from new ideas to prototypes in hand in days, and we ship new features and improvements to Dia weekly, so the impact of your work shows up fast. We listen, iterate, and keep shaping Dia to solve real problems in ways that feel simple and delightful.
Overall you will...
Lead, architect, and execute LLM-powered features to redefine core Browser primitives
Collaborate closely with Design, Product, Data, and our Leadership teams to brainstorm, prototype, and launch new features
Champion a product-minded approach, ensuring every technical decision is grounded in user impact and business value.
Sweat the small stuff to deliver high‑craft, industry‑leading, interaction‑rich user experiences which set the bar for what's possible.
Get familiar with Chromium, Swift and our development environment across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.
Technical Projects You'll Shape With Us…
Dia integration with apps you love: Make Dia the best browser to work with your apps - GSuite, Jira, Notion, and more - so that you can get your work done faster.
Make Dia the best traditional browser: Nail the basics and common browser use cases - tabs, extensions, history, and more - while ensuring Dia is performant, reliable, and secure.
AI lens with the future of browsing: Reimagine tabs, search, history, and more with assistant‑aware behaviors that feel simple and powerful.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience developing high‑craft software products, with a background in user‑facing product development or having shipped AI features from 0‑1.
You have hands‑on experience building with LLMs, an understanding of how they work, and a genuine curiosity to go deep on the technology.
You're experienced in solving ambiguous problems and have successfully owned complex technical initiatives and projects that have had an outsized impact on a business.
You're pragmatic, motivated by nebulous problems, and excited to work in a startup environment with quick product validation cycles.
Most of our team is based in North American time zones and require that folks have 4+ hours of overlap time with team members in Eastern Time Zone.
You resonate with our company values and can continue to scale your team with these in mind.
Compensation and Benefits
Our total compensation package for full‑time employees includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The annual salary range for this role is $225,000-275,000 USD. The actual salary offered will vary based on experience level and interview performance.
Benefits: We also offer a wide range of perks and benefits designed to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community. To learn more, visit go.atlassian.com/perksandbenefits.
Location: We're a remote‑friendly company and can hire in any country where Atlassian has a legal entity. If you live in New York (or want to visit), you're welcome to work from our beautiful office in Williamsburg.
The Browser Company is an ambitious team of close to 100 people (and growing!) who are passionate about building great products. We are a remote‑first, distributed team, with the option to work from office in Brooklyn, New York. We strongly support diversity and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.

In September 2025, we raised $100M in growth capital to accelerate our mission of making AI actually work in the enterprise and to advance our platform technology.
About The Role
As a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Invisible, you'll lead high‑impact, AI‑powered solutions that reshape how our clients operate their most critical workflows. This is a hybrid role: equal parts AI engineer, software builder, and technical consultant. It's perfect for someone who wants to be hands‑on with models and close to the impact they generate.
What You'll Do
Partner with delivery and executive stakeholders to scope, design, and lead implementation of AI‑driven solutions
Identify transformational opportunities in messy, ambiguous workflows and turn them into repeatable systems
Lead architecture design and trade‑off discussions across performance, scalability, cost, and reliability
Own projects from first discovery call through full deployment - including client‑facing delivery, internal coordination, and post‑launch iteration
Build shared infrastructure, reusable components, and internal playbooks to level‑up the team
Coach and mentor mid‑level engineers and help shape the culture of forward‑deployed AI engineering at Invisible
What We Need
8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time spent building data, ML, or backend systems
Python & ML/LLM Frameworks: Deep proficiency in Python with hands‑on experience using Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI, Pinecone, and related ecosystems
Deployment & Infrastructure: Skilled in full‑stack and API‑based deployment patterns, including Docker, FastAPI, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (GCP, AWS)
Platform Orchestration: Experienced with workflow orchestration libraries, pub/sub systems (Kafka), and schema governance
Data Management: Expertise in data governance and operations, including Unity Catalog and policy management, cluster/job orchestration, data contracts and quality enforcement, Delta/ETL pipelines, and replay processes
Strong product and system design instincts - you understand business needs and how to translate them into technical architecture
Experience building usable systems from messy data and ambiguous requirements
Excellent communication and client‑facing skills; you've led conversations with technical and non‑technical stakeholders alike
Proven experience owning projects from scoping through deployment in ambiguous, high‑stakes environments
Be willing to be on‑call for our customers when situations arise
Ability to travel roughly 25-50% of the time, sometimes short‑notice trips - primarily across North America with occasional international roll‑outs - to work directly on‑site with clients
Strong engineering background demonstrated by a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science and related fields OR equivalent professional experience
What's In It For You
Invisible is committed to fair and competitive pay, ensuring that compensation reflects both market conditions and the value each team member brings. Our salary structure accounts for regional differences in cost of living while maintaining internal equity.
* Offers will also include bonus + equity + benefits. Bonuses and equity are included in offers above entry level. Final compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including location, job‑related experience, skills, knowledge, internal pay equity, and overall market conditions. Because of this, every offer is unique. Additional details on total compensation and benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.

At Invisible, we're not just redefining work - we're reinventing it. We operate at the intersection of advanced AI and human ingenuity, pushing the boundaries of what's possible to unlock productivity and scale. Ownership is at the core of everything we do. Member of Technical Staff (All Levels) - Platform
Basis Ai
Member, technical staff job in New York, NY
About Basis
Basis equips accountants with a team of AI agents to take on real workflows.
We have hit product-market fit, have more demand than we can meet, and just raised $34m to scale at a speed that meets this moment.
Built in New York City. Read more about Basis here.
About the Team
The Platform Engineering team at Basis builds and runs the infrastructure that powers our AI research and products. We're a lean team that loves building large-scale distributed systems from scratch. We focus on clarity: clean abstractions, simple mental models, and clear interfaces that help our product and research teams move fast.
We build the foundational capabilities an AI accountant needs. That means modeling the accounting world (concepts, workflows, constraints) and providing solid foundations: scalable services, efficient data pipelines, and comprehensive observability.
About the Role
As a Platform Engineer at Basis, you'll own projects completely from scoping to delivery. You'll be the Responsible Party (RP) for the systems you design. That means you decide how to build them, how to measure success, and when they're ready to ship.
We trust you to manage yourself. You'll plan your own projects, work closely with your pod, and take full responsibility for execution and quality. You'll build systems that serve every part of Basis: AI, product, and internal agents. And you'll make those systems fast, reliable, and easy to understand.
What you'll be doing:
Build and scale our core infrastructure
Design and scale services for reliability, cost, and growth.
Define deployment and runtime patterns (containers, orchestration, IaC, secrets, CI/CD).
Build observability systems (metrics, logs, traces) and make recovery straightforward.
Own your services in production. Understand how they behave and continuously improve them.
Design the data systems that power our AI
Build pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver high-quality financial data.
Add validation, lineage tracking, and drift detection directly into workflows.
Provide clean, well-modeled datasets to agents and product surfaces with clear contracts.
Continuously simplify. Turn complexity into elegant, composable systems.
Model the world our AI operates in
Capture accounting entities, relationships, and rules as data models and schemas.
Design the abstractions that make reasoning and automation possible.
Build systems that encode domain rules about what agents can and cannot do.
Operate with ownership and clarity
Plan and execute your projects as an RP: scope, architect, implement, and deliver.
Document decisions clearly so others can build on your work.
Run your own postmortems and continuously improve how you build.
Work with your pod (Platform, ML, Product) to align priorities and solve blockers quickly.
📍 Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team.
What Success looks like in this role
You run your projects from concept to production and maintain high quality standards.
Your systems are simple, scalable, observable, and elegant.
Other teams build faster because your abstractions are clear and well-designed.
You don't just follow patterns. You understand why they exist.
You work with conviction, communicate clearly, and raise the bar for those around you.
Why Join Basis?
We offer a competitive and thoughtful benefits package designed to support your physical, mental, and financial well-being:
Health & Wellness: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; Life Insurance; and 6 coaching & 6 therapy sessions through Spring Health.
Flexibility: Unlimited PTO + 12 paid company holidays.
In-Office Perks: Daily meal stipends, a fully stocked kitchen, and $300 toward your custom desk setup.
Financial Benefits: Pre-tax commuter benefits and 401(k) retirement plan
