The Principal Software Engineer will lead our software systems' technical direction and architecture by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance solutions that drive our products forward

Experiment with new technologies and frameworks, such as GraphQL for API development or Flutter for cross-platform mobile app development, to improve product innovation and user experience
Drives innovation and process improvements within the engineering team, promoting agile methodologies, automation, and DevOps practices. Implement, and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools like CircleCI CI/CD to automate software delivery and improve release velocity
Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, presenting complex ideas and solutions clearly and concisely
Collaborates with cross-functional teams in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews to ensure alignment and transparency across the organization

Requirements:

BA or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
10 years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality software solutions
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, or C++, as well as modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3)
Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices, with experience in designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems

The DMC University Laboratories service area covers the entire Southeast Michigan market, and is growing at a rapid pace with the following outstanding features\: Test menu of over 1,000 tests, which includes high end specialty tests. Less than 1% of our tests are sent to outside reference laboratories. Provide reference laboratory services to many of the other healthcare systems in Southeastern Michigan and several out of state facilities.
Summary Description
In conjunction with Genetics Division Medical Director, assumes responsibility for effective planning, organization, direction and coordination of technical operations of the Medical Genetics Laboratory, including pre-and post analytical functions. In conjunction with Administrative Director, assumes responsibility for controlling productivity, fiscal responsibility and quality of results of test performed under his/her direction. Reports on a variety of specialized diagnostic laboratory tests and procedures.
• Works with Genetics Division Medical Director to develop and implement technical policies, systems and procedures for the Medical Genetics Laboratory. Provides recommendations and input to policies, procedures and systems for other DMC laboratory functions. • Participates in development and structure of Medical Genetics Laboratory's technical objectives; assists in development of specific short-term and long-range plans and programs including supporting budget and cost information.
• Establishes and monitors all technical methods, processes and procedures; in conjunction with Administrative Director, cooperates with Medical Director to direct and implement department work schedules, staffing schedules, preventative maintenance programs and personnel requirements for the Medical Genetics Laboratory.
• Ensures validity, accuracy and analyses of all tests performed within the Medical Genetics Laboratory.
