Technical Alignment Manager (MSP)
Member, technical staff job in La Verne, CA
Technical Alignment Manager (MSP) Client-Facing • La Verne, CA Area $120,000-$135,000 + Cert-Driven Raises
I lead a Microsoft-first, cloud-focused MSP that's been helping businesses modernize since the early 2000s. We work with orgs that actually care about technology; non-profits, local government, manufacturers, professional services, and we're investing heavily in scaling a repeatable, high-quality service model.
I'm hiring a Technical Alignment Manager to own a set of clients, tighten up their environments, and help drive our next phase of growth. If you like being “the” trusted engineer for a group of customers, this is that kind of role.
You'll be primarily in person at client offices Monday through Friday, focused around the La Verne area. That means you'll really know your environments, build real relationships, and see the impact of your work. This isn't a churn-and-burn ticket role. You'll be the person who walks in, sees the bigger picture, and quietly fixes the things that have annoyed users and previous providers for years, while building a path for yourself into architecture, vCIO/strategy, or leadership.
What you'll be doing
Acting as the primary technical face for a set of clients in the La Verne corridor and nearby cities
Reviewing environments against our standards and best practices, then planning and implementing improvements
Rolling out new hardware, Microsoft 365 services, Azure AD changes, and local infrastructure updates
Hardening environments each month (4-8 hours per client) with tangible, documented changes instead of “busy work”
Cleaning up legacy sprawl: tightening identity, permissions, backups, network layout, and endpoint configurations
Keeping documentation current so our central team can execute quickly and consistently
Partnering with our service leadership and vCIOs to turn recurring technical pain points into permanent fixes
Leading local activities during projects and being the calm, credible technical voice in front of end users and stakeholders
Why this role has real growth
Clear career track into Senior Technical Alignment Manager, Cloud Architect, or vCIO-style advisory work
Direct visibility with our Director of Service Delivery and leadership team (your work is highly noticeable)
We give salary increases for every approved technical certification you earn and no cap
Heavily Microsoft-focused environment (M365, Azure, identity, security) so your skills stack stays current and in demand
You'll see a wide variety of environments and industries, building a portfolio of wins you can point to
What makes you a great fit
5+ years in IT (MSP, consulting, or similar), with comfort working independently at customer locations
Strong Microsoft stack experience:
Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)
Azure AD / Entra ID and Windows Server
Solid grounding in networking fundamentals (VLANs, firewalls, DNS/DHCP)
Comfortable leading the charge on small to mid-sized projects at client sites
You enjoy talking to non-technical people and can explain “why” in plain language
You're organized enough to keep standards, documentation, and follow-through tight
Nice-to-have (not deal breakers)
Experience in an MSP or IT services firm working with multiple clients
Cisco, Azure or Microsoft Certifications
Microsoft certifications (Modern Desktop, Azure Fundamentals, or similar)
Exposure to PSA/RMM tools like ConnectWise and a remote management platform
Compensation & benefits
Salary: $120,000-$135,000 base depending on experience
Unlimited salary increases tied to approved certifications once passed
Health insurance starting day one
Vision, dental, life, accident, and disability options
Medical and Dependent Care FSA
Employee Assistance Program and discount programs
401(k) with company match
Paid holidays and PTO
Company laptop + cellphone reimbursement
Technology certification reimbursement program
If you're a Microsoft-focused engineer who likes being embedded with clients, shaping their environments, and actually seeing your work pay off, in your career and your paycheck.
