The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $222,530 to $301,070 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. Strong communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders, customers, and upper management.
Experience in making critical decisions under pressure, especially in the context of space mission risks and system failures.
Ability to drive a culture of innovation while ensuring rigorous adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Understanding of space mission lifecycle from concept through to deployment and post-launch operations.
Experience in working with government contracts and procurement processes for space hardware and electronics.
Strong analytical skills for solving complex technical problems in a constrained environment.
Ability to innovate and adapt new technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning for satellite operations, new materials, or quantum computing) to enhance space mission capabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
Ability to handle ambiguity and uncertainty, particularly in early stages of new space technologies or when dealing with unknowns in space missions.

Raytheon is seeking a Product Area Technology Director (TD) to join the Mission Integration Solution (MIS) Product Area. This position establishes the technical baseline, product roadmaps and technical investment strategy for multiple domestic and international pursuits. MIS products integrate disparate weapon systems using our C5I™ solutions at strategic, operational and tactical levels. This role requires collaboration across RTX, with commercial vendors, other defense contractors, and acquisition and operational customers to develop solutions.
What You Will Do
Mature technical baselines in support of multiple foreign and domestic captures. The technical baseline includes mission analysis, solution architecture and solution baselines.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to capture, program managers and SBUs and SSBU Technical Directors. The successful TD can quickly respond to capture manager requests in a dynamic environment.
Develop product roadmaps and identify technical needs that translate into Research and Development opportunities.
Provide technical content for internal and external engagements with stakeholders.
Lead teams in disparate locations utilizing a combination of direction and influence
Frequent domestic and international travel is required. MIS teams are located in Massachusetts and California. Customers are located throughout the world.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
