A membership manager takes care of all tasks related to memberships of their association. These tasks often include managing the membership database, inducting new members into the association, handling membership fees, processing payments, and ensuring a high quality of customer service for all members.

In addition, membership managers may also be responsible for providing handbooks, membership certificates, and other necessary documentation or paperwork to members. They are also in charge of orientation and registration of new members, although they may not be the ones to conduct the actual program. Furthermore, they are typically responsible for handling guest service personnel which entails duties like creating schedules and managing the payroll.

For many employers, the minimum requirement for this role is a high school diploma or GED, given that the applicant has ample experience in a similar role. However, individuals with bachelor's degrees in business or other relevant fields usually have a greater edge.

Membership managers earn around $45,000 per year, which is about $22 an hour. Some membership managers can even earn as much as $68,000, depending on the association they service and their level of experience.

A bachelor's in communication sciences and disorders can prepare you for three different tracks. First, it can prepare you to become a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This is someone who works under a fully credential speech-language pathologist. Often times, they carryout intervention plans developed by a fully credentialed speech-language pathologist. If graduate school is on your horizon, a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders will prepare you for acceptance into a Speech-Language Pathology program, or an Audiology program. If you are not accepted into a graduate program right away, working as a speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) is a great way to get experience in the field!
