    We are looking for a Sterile Technician to join our surgery team! We are looking for somonis to work approx. 28 hours a week. What You'll Do: Follows established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, preparing and packaging, disinfecting or sterilizing, and storing medical and surgical supplies and equipment for various department; Adheres to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment; Follows safety procedures and manufacturer's instructions when handling cleaning solutions, supplies, and equipment; Operates equipment in sterile processing areas safely and according to manufacturer's instructions for use; Comply with organizational policies, regulatory and accreditation standards and processional guidelines. Inventory, receive, and restock materials used for supporting sterile processing services; Distribute medical and surgical supplies from sterile processing areas to other areas as needed. Responds to emergencies outside normal working hours (i.e. internal and external disasters); takes on-call as assigned Monitors, interprets and documents results of physical, chemical and biological indicators for all types of sterilizers used in the sterile processing areas; communicates significant information to ensure optimal safety and care outcomes for team members and patients. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Keeps accurate and complete records of procedure charges, data sheets, specimen/laboratory slips, medicines given, adverse reactions, equipment sent for repair, and other required documentation. Coordinates patient scheduling with other hospital departments. Assists in training new employees in the GID Lab and assists in training visiting personnel from other hospitals. May conduct GID in-service training for non-GID personnel. Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years Gastro-Intestinal Diagnostic Laboratory Technician experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks.
