Under the leadership of the department director and their assigned supervisor, the food service worker II has a variety of duties. Duties may include but are not limited to: dishwashing, pot washing, environmental cleaning, sanitation and waste disposal, bussing of tables, delivery and retrieval of patient trays and/or carts, delivery of food and non-food supplies, stocking of food and non-food supplies, basic food/beverage production, and assembling meal trays. Food service worker II may also be responsible for taking food/beverage orders, operating the point of sale (POS) system, completing financial transactions, reconciling cash drawers and resolving customer complaints. Experience Fluency, the ability to communicate orally, and the ability to read and write in English is required. Passing a basic reading and math test is required. Working quickly and accurately is required. Excellent customer service skills are required. Basic food/beverage production skills are required. The role involves regularly lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 30 pounds, such as meal carriers, bulk food containers, and kitchen supplies. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary for operating food service equipment and portioning meals accurately. The work is performed primarily in a kitchen environment, with exposure to varying temperatures, steam, and noise from equipment.
