1955: A four-bed ward for burn patients opens.
With 98 beds, Northern Regional Hospital opened its doors to patients in 1957.
1967: The Bothin Burn Center opens as a 10-bed acute care center.
An intensive/coronary unit, which was one of the first such facilities in a rural community hospital, was added in 1969 along with a 24-hour emergency department and a physical therapy service.
The construction of a 14,000 square foot ambulatory care addition, which included pathology, radiology, outpatient/emergency and office space added on to the hospital’s north wing, was completed in 1974.
1979: The Center for Sports Medicine opens.
1984: The Project '84 Campaign raises $3.5 million for major hospital renovations.
1986: The Healthwise Senior Program is started.
John K. Lockhart served as the hospital’s first administrator, a position he held until 1991.
1993: Saint Francis becomes a member of Dignity Health.
2000: Saint Francis opens The Health Center at SBC Park (now AT&T Park).
2002: Saint Francis scores 94 during the JCAHO/CALS survey, one of the top scores within the Dignity Health Hospital System.

2014: Saint Francis expands its Imaging Services Department with new advanced digital imaging technology with the addition of the Hologic Selenia Dimensions 2D Digital Mammography and the Toshiba Aquilion Prime Volumetric CT Scanning.
