Role Overview:
Laboratory Support: Maintain overall lab cleanliness and organization, including shared workspaces, storage areas, and equipment stations; Monitor inventory of reagents, consumables, and supplies; assist with ordering and restocking; Properly label, store, and track materials, samples, and chemical inventories; Assist in maintaining safety documentation, MSDS records, and compliance logs; Perform routine equipment upkeep (calibration checks, temperature logs, cleaning).
Techniques & Assays: Perform routine cell culture and molecular biology work (e.g., Western blot, ELISA, IHC and/or IF, qPCR etc).
Animal Handling: Conduct routine mouse work (e.g., injections, tissue/fluids collection, animal autopsies).
Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
Collaboration: Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or a related life sciences field.
Experience with cell culture and molecular biology work.
Comfort working directly with animal models is required for this role; experience working with mice is preferred.

The Olayan Center for Cancer Vaccines, a key pillar in MSK's immuno-oncology transformation, is seeking a Senior Researcher - Bioanalyst to join our RNA Therapeutics Lab to support immune manufacture, characterization and innovation of mRNA-based personalized cancer vaccines. This role will focus on developing bioanalytical assays for in vivo and in vitro immunological evaluation and characterization of RNA and LNP's for eventual tech transfer for GMP release. These assays will focus on the T-cell response to vaccines and tumors, but may include other immunological assessments, including APC characterization, cytokine response, etc.
You will have a unique opportunity to help build the lab from the ground up, shape workflows, and pioneer new approaches. You won't just be joining a lab - you'll be helping to design it, define it, and set the stage for years of discovery!
Role Overview:
* Specific skills include mouse injection, tissue isolation and processing, tumor implantation, T cell characterization, cell transfection, flow cytometry, ELISA, cellular and in vivo imaging
* Development of bioanalytical assays of RNA and LNP's for preclinical assessment in vivo and in vitro, focusing on T-cell responses, as well as GMP analytical release aligned with regulatory guidance and requirements
* Assays will assess immunological potency and other measures of RNA/LNP performance, in both cellular and in vivo contexts, to make decisions on RNA and LNP platforms
* Plan, lead and execute in cellulo and in vivo experiments as needed
* Collaborate with formulation, research and GMP arms to pursue optimal mRNA designs, lipid formulation, and processes
* Write laboratory standard operating procedures for assays and routine methodologies for tech transfer to GMP operations
* Analyzing data and creating graphs using appropriate software (e.g., SoftMax Pro, Excel, Prism) and data visualization tools; writing reports of results and methods used and presenting data at regular lab meetings.
* Perform routine maintenance, operation and inventory for a variety of laboratory instruments and reagents, which may include, but are not limited to: microplate readers, analytical reagents, and the flow cytometer
* Following proper safety recommendations and handling procedures for different biological and chemical materials and ensuring others in the laboratory adhere to proper safety procedures.
* Training other laboratory personnel as needed.

The Fine Lab
The Fine lab is a Neuro-oncology research group that makes use of complex 3D human brain tumor models (GLICOs: ********************************************* ********************************************* to perform translational research into glioblastoma. We are a diverse, multinational and interdisciplinary team (MD/PhDs, cell/ molecular biologists, veterinarians & bioinformaticians) with a vibrant research and training environment in the Tri-Institutional Campus of New York City. We have secure funding and exceptional access to patient tissue/cell lines, as well as cutting edge scientific resources and training.
The Role
The successful candidate will be trained to work with embryonic stem cell-derived cerebral organoids interfaced with tumor stem cell biology, to facilitate High Throughput drug screenings. They will be a key personnel of the incipient Starr Foundation Cerebral Organoid Translational Core and will report to its supervisor.
In achieving this goal, the candidate will have the opportunity to perform, and receive training in, a wide range of laboratory techniques including: reprogramming of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cell culture, the generation and culture of cerebral organoids and tumor organoids and the use and development of cell based assays to test novel therapeutic drug candidates, and cutting edge gene editing and molecular biology techniques. They will be an integral member of the lab with the ability to work independently, contribute to experimental design, interpret and present your results to the wider team, and receive recognition through authorship on published work.
Job responsibilities
Collect and process biological patient specimens to establish glioma stem cell lines.
Perform routine human iPSC/ESC culture.
Generation and maintenance of hESC-derived cerebral organoids.
Perform 2D and 3D high-throughput drug screening using luminescence-based assays.
Prepares and maintains detailed records, logs and summary reports of all procedures and results including graphs, scientific calculations, and statistical analysis charting.
May run routine biochemistry assays including western blotting and RT-PCR.
May perform routine molecular biology laboratory procedures, such as PCR, DNA electrophoresis, cloning and DNA preparation.
May perform microscopic imaging analyses.
Minimum requirements:
• Commitment to delivering meaningful advancements that directly enhance patient care and well-being.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. cell/ molecular biology, neuroscience, biochemistry) or equivalent practical experience.

Overview
Plans, supervises and performs research relating to paraphysiological changes in the heart and skeletal muscles in consultation with the Research Director
Responsibilities
* Prepares experimental findings for publication and presentation at conferences and for grant proposals.

Administration: (10%):
Maintain standard operating protocols, list of reagents, study initiatives, assist with IACUC applications
Supervises and trains undergraduate students, medical students and residents in standard operating protocols

Autoimmunity Research (90%):
Works closely with Principal Investigator in the design and execution of translational studies in autoimmune disease.
Performs in vitro studies, which will include growing human cell lines and primary cells, with subsequent analysis of gene and protein expression. Studies may also include genotyping and flow cytometry, and in vivo mouse experiments.
Animal studies will incorporate use of mouse models of autoimmunity. Technician will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, providing animal care, and tissue harvesting techniques and post euthanasia processing.

Administration: (10%):
Maintain standard operating protocols, list of reagents, study initiatives, assist with IACUC applications
Supervises and trains undergraduate students, medical students and residents in standard operating protocols

Autoimmunity Research (90%):
Works closely with Principal Investigator in the design and execution of translational studies in autoimmune disease.
Performs in vitro studies, which will include growing human cell lines and primary cells, with subsequent analysis of gene and protein expression. Studies may also include genotyping and flow cytometry, and in vivo mouse experiments.
Animal studies will incorporate use of mouse models of autoimmunity. Technician will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, providing animal care, and tissue harvesting techniques and post euthanasia processing.

A Clinical Laboratory Technologist II discusses and communicates laboratory method(s), principle(s) and theory (ies) with the laboratory and healthcare teams in the course of resolving issues, and teaching and mentoring students and fellow employees.
Once a Clinical Laboratory Technologist II has sufficient experience (generally six years) to qualify under the New York provision listed in Subpart 58 as a Supervisor he/she may, after appropriate training and demonstration of competency, be assigned as a supervisor for situations where the Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor is not on-site, but readily available by telephone or electronic paging device.
As outlined in the New York State Department of Health standards testing personnel must:
follow the laboratory's pre-analytic and analytic procedures and maintaining records of tests; maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens; adhere to the laboratory's quality assurance procedures, including documenting all:
quality control activities
instrument and equipment verifications;
maintenance and preventive maintenance; and
follow the laboratory's policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established performance specifications; identify and document problems that may adversely affect test performance and notify the supervisor, assistant director(s) or director; and document all corrective actions taken when tests systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.

York City. The research assistant will engage in basic/translational biomedical research projects
focused on bone biology/inflammation (osteoimmunology), related to osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteolysis.
These positions offer relevant training and experience for students planning to apply
to graduate school, medical school, or M.D.-Ph.D programs. Positions are available in
January 2026, and a two-year commitment is preferred.
