Accurate hearing ability and vision that can be corrected to 20/20 are required. This position is designated as a safety sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening. EMT's receive a starting salary of $39,468 for a metro 12 hr shift + depending on experience. Full benefit package includes retirement plan with generous match. Specific requirements: a) Successful completion of a VBMCA approved field-training program. b) Credentialing requirements as defined by: Paramedic: Minimum 50 ALS patient contacts. All required certification and training requirements completed, as outlined in the Van Buren Pre-hospital Care Credentialing Protocol, and any assigned trainings by the Education Coordinator/Supervisor.     Job Description Safety Sensitve Responsible for prober coding of outpatient test procedures. Filing of laboratory orders. Maintaining and updating files. Retrieving information as requested. Responsible for calling and faxing copies of test results of outpatients to the attending physician. Responsible for answering the phone professionally and receiving and relaying messages, answering general questions and referring all other questions to the appropriate staff members. Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks of inpatients and outpatients in such a manner as to obtain optimum blood specimens at a minimum of patient inconvenience. Ensures that specimens are collected per physicians order and returned to the laboratory appropriately to maintain optimal turnaround of all test results per department policy. Identifies all patients by use of WRHS Always Rule policy - using Patient name and date of birth as two identifiers. Will label all patient specimens with patient's name, date of birth, date, time and initial of the phlebotomist. Will collect legal alcohol and drug screens for industries. Responsible for patient data entry. Enter patient data into computer as to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and proper turnaround time. Orders reference lab tests and prepares specimens to be sent out. 4. Follows all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Meets attendance expectations as specified in the Stone County Medical Center's Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual. Attends or reads minutes of each department meeting. Attends all required departmental in-services. Accepts and performs other assigned duties with a positive attitude, as requested and documented by the supervisor. Has demonstrated or provided proof of meeting all required/mandatory competencies. Has met all employee health requirements for the evaluation year and has reviewed safety manuals. Maintains the confidentiality of any information the employee has access to - including, but not limited to financial, patient records, employee records or any other information of a sensitive nature, which if disclosed could cause harm to the hospital, patients, or staff. 5. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
