My Dad wanted me to work for Menards, he loved Menards, I have finally been able to fulfill my promise to my Dad although I picked a Menards that is not managed well. I need your help! I love my job as a Cashier at Menards, although because of the bullying and lack of honesty I felt I had no choice then to quit, I did so as the bully ramped up. I very much want to Cashier again for Menards, I will continue to do a great job and help out anyway I can.
The Management at the store I worked in is just as much a bully as some of the staff that bully other staff and customers. I know Menards is a Great place to work and I just need to find a store in which employees are treated well!
I really enjoy the customers, many of them remind me of my Dad and the very reason I started at Menards. I also enjoy the pace and the majority of staff.
The store I was in needs new management, fair and understanding along with stopping negative behavior.
Working with each other, simply saying hello to each other, teaching Menards edict along with stopping negative behavior so we can work as a team together to create success for all customers.
I learned about the store and the Midwest values, how everything started and why my Dad loved the store so much.
I believe that the compensation is fine, I was not working for Menards for the compensation, I wanted to work for Menards for the family and unity, I did not find that in the store I was hired in although I believe I can still find the family feel in another store.
I like diversity and different people and cultures. I believe we all have talents.
I so love Menards, I like the pace, my happiness, work ethic, trying to make each customer feel like they are the only customer in the store. I do want to find a store I can feel comfortable and give my 100 percent to the Menards my Dad always talked about.

Menards can be an excellent place to work, BUT that depends on store management. Be very careful to check with employees to find out how they feel about their store General Manager! Some stores are run by authoritarian egomaniacs! Department managers might vary, even in the best managed stores. One more “bad”. Headquarters frequently sets tasks to be done in every store. These range from simple rearranging of shelves to remodeling. These tasks are detailed explanations, plans and materials lists. Many times they are not well thought out and those trying to accomplish something cannot continue and are forced into delay, “making-do” and frustration. Having necessary materials shipped to the stores on time and complete are the two biggest factors.
Easy advancement. Easy access to unpaid leave, when needed. Easy to transfer to other stores because almost all stores are laid out in very similar and usually identical ways.
The people you work with are very chill and overall really nice people. Also tons of the regulars that shop there are really nice and friendly!
A lot of people you work with are also really lazy. You'll be forced to pick up there slack. And if you tell the managers anything they don,t care!
Only real perk i got was that on the weekends they give you an extra $2.50 in pay
