The first schoolhouse was built in 1883 by some of the local men in the area.
On March 31, 1890, the old "Antelope School," under the purview of the San Diego School District, received one and a half acres of land from William W. Snoddy for the new school site on the southwest corner of Newport and Bradley Roads.
The school was opened September 14, 1891.
The Vale Union High School used this east room beginning in 1891.
In the 1940's many of the Menifee roads that you see today were given a "family name." These names could be traced back to an early settler of Menifee who had owned a property in a specific location.
The Menifee and Antelope School Districts unionized in December 1951 and resolved that the new school district should be called "Menifee Union Elementary School District," according to the Menifee school board minutes dated December 7, 1951.
For a short time, Antelope children attended the Menifee School on Newport until the new Menifee School on Garbani (now Garbani Road) opened in 1952.
The Menifee area began to grow further in 1989 with the master-planned community of Menifee Lakes and continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in California.
On June 3, 2008, the residents of the communities encompassing the City of Menifee voted to incorporate Menifee into Riverside County's 26th city.
The new City of Menifee was officially established on October 1, 2008.
