1886

When founded in 1886, our flagship mill in Fostoria, Ohio, had a capacity of 1,500 barrels, and was the largest flour mill in the country not located on water.

1958

In 1958, Donald M. Mennel became the third-generation president of Mennel.

1962

The story of Martel Bakery Mix began in 1962 when a gentleman named Joe Imbs opened a new location for "The Shiloh Company" at 4136 Martel Road in Caledonia Ohio.

1983

Then in 1983, Donald L. Mennel, took over leadership of the company.

2013

After taking the reins in 2013, Ford Mennel diversified the company's portfolio by investing in several new strategic ventures, including the acquisition of Keynes Brothers Inc., two bakery mix facilities, a distribution center, and more.

2017

In 2017, Kevin Coy joined the Mennel team as Plant Manager of the Martel facility.
