Summary:

Job Summary and Qualifications
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Directs operations, programs and activities to meet organizational and regulatory requirements and to drive innovation.

Assures compliance with standards set forth by accrediting agencies: CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, FDA and CMS. Develops and implements policies and procedures and verifies annual review of all policies and procedures.
Manages key vendor relationships and supply contracts in coordination with Laboratory Services and Supply Chain guidance.
Develops and implements a communication plan to ensure that department personnel are well informed. Fosters open communication by offering, encouraging, and accepting suggestions from staff regarding department operations
Directs and organizes operations through the appropriate, delegation of responsibilities and authority in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Monitors and evaluates the activities of the staff and provides management, coaching, guidance, delegation opportunities, and on-the-job training and re-training as necessary to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to policies and procedures
What qualifications you will need:
Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry required.
Master's Degree preferred
National Certification as a Medical Technologist required.
5 years or more of progressive laboratory management experience is required with complex laboratory operations, required.
Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred

At Thomas House, you'll support community members and U.S. military veterans transitioning from inpatient hospitalization by providing crisis counseling, medication management, educational groups, and one-on-one support in a safe, therapeutic environment. Schedule. Our Residential Facilities are 24/7 and open every day of the year, and Residential Counselors work fully onsite/in person. Shifts are 10 hours in length, with the following shift available.

Shift Differential Pay. The afternoon or swing shift is from 3 pm to 11 pm. The evening shift is from 11 pm to 7 am. The Weekend day shift is from 7 am to 3 for Saturday and Sunday only.

Observe client behaviors and assess degree of improvement and/or deterioration in targeted problems and behaviors.
Share information regarding significant observations in client behaviors, affect or thought process with residential staff at shift change, with clinicians, psychiatrist, and residential supervisor.
Participate in implementation of individual treatment plans, including medication monitoring, UAs as ordered, and/or teaching of activities of daily living when appropriate.
Participate in emergency procedures and/or crisis intervention, as needed, contacting the appropriate resource for assistance and/or to determine a plan of action within required time frames.
Maintain consistency with clients to ensure appropriate milieu management.
May perform case management services, including linkage and monitoring.
May facilitate psychoeducational groups within residential services.
Participate in team conferences, client evaluation meetings and staff in-service training.
Chart on individual progress notes efficiently and regularly, all pertinent and meaningful observations and information.
Follow residential services policies and procedures regarding admissions, discharges, and client care.
Report maintenance needs of facility to residential supervisor to ensure safe environment for clients.

Position Overview
The MSW Clinical Intern will support Waypoint's Homeless Youth and Young Adult (HYYA) Department in delivering trauma-informed, equity-focused, and youth-driven services. Interns will engage in direct service and clinical tasks that contribute to the safety, stability, and well-being of youth and young adults (ages 18-[SE1] 25) experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
This is a field placement opportunity designed to build clinical skills and systems understanding while centering the voice and autonomy of young people.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one and group support to youth and young adults, using a strengths-based and harm reduction approach.
Conduct biopsychosocial assessments under supervision, contributing to care planning and goal development.
Co-facilitate or observe case management, drop-in services, and street outreach activities as appropriate.
Document services and interactions in accordance with agency and university standards.
Participate in case conferencing, reflective supervision, team meetings, and training opportunities.
Apply principles of trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and positive youth development in all interactions.
Work collaboratively with young adult-serving systems and community providers.
Uphold ethical social work standards, including confidentiality, boundaries, and cultural humility.
Learning Goals and Opportunities
Develop and refine clinical social work skills in a real-world, high-impact setting.
Deepen understanding of homelessness, housing insecurity, and systemic inequity as they relate to youth development.
Gain practical experience navigating the intersection of direct practice and macro-level service systems.
Build knowledge of community resources, Coordinated Entry, Housing First, and youth engagement strategies.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program (2nd-year or advanced standing preferred).
Eligible to participate in a clinical internship through their university.
Interest in youth homelessness, social justice, and trauma-informed practice.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Must pass a background check and complete onboarding requirements.
Supervision & Support
Interns will receive weekly clinical supervision from a qualified clinical supervisor and ongoing functional support from the HYYA Senior Manager or program designee. Opportunities for reflective practice and professional development will be provided throughout the placement.
