SCOPE OF ROLE

* Answer incoming crisis hotline calls, texts, and chats with professionalism and empathy.
* De-escalate individuals in crisis using active listening, validation, and problem-solving techniques.
* Determine the severity of a crisis, including screening for the risk of harm to self or others, and respond accordingly.
* Collaborate with emergency responders, clinicians, and community resources when necessary.
* Conduct risk determinations using standardized tools and guidelines.

Develops and provides solution focused interventions and emotional and behavioral management from evidence-based treatments.

Job Summary
The the contract Therapist role works under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, therapy, counseling, and support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, and families. Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship with client, family, and caregivers to provide them support as appropriate.

Assist in crisis intervention as appropriate.

Actively participate in treatment conferences and meetings for the clients.
Perform related administrative responsibilities; maintains client information, reports, records, and other documents; responds timely to emails and phone calls; attends and conducts in various trainings and meetings; communicates with other agencies, departments, and vendors regarding required paperwork, contract compliance and consults with other county agencies and/or supportive services as necessary.
Accurately and promptly, document and maintain the confidentiality of client and family interactions including, legal, financial, and clinical documentation within agency guidelines.
Maintain ongoing frequent contact with other assigned OhioGuidestone professionals or outside agency professionals assigned to case.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Will facilitate adolescent IOP groups for both court-ordered as well as external/ internal referral sources.

Provides services to meet the mentalhealth needs of enrolled University of Toledo students, as well as services (including consultation, when appropriate) to University faculty, staff, alumnae, and parents/guardians.
