QUALIFICATIONS: Education, License or Formal Training: * Possess a master's degree in clinical social work or counseling, and a current LCSW or LCPC * Possess all certifications required by the State of Wyoming * Minimum of 5 years' experience working with children and adolescence with mental health concerns, and social/emotional challenges in a school setting * Expertise in providing individual and group counseling to students with emotional/mental health challenges * Expertise in conducting assessment for at-risk behavior, suicidality and mental health of children and adolescents * Expertise in designing and implementing behavioral interventions Knowledge, Skills and Mental Ability: * Knowledge of current evidence based therapeutic interventions for youth with mental health challenges * Skilled at assessing level of suicidality in individuals who present for help * Skilled at working with variety of school age youth * Skilled at working with families or guardians while maintaining relationship with student * Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision * Ability to maintain boundaries with students and families * Ability to uphold confidentiality at all times * Ability to maintain communication with appropriate school-based staff on a regular basis * Knowledge of community resources for collaboration and referrals * Skilled at collaborating with such resources (community mental health services, psychiatrists, youth and family services, etc.) * Skilled in basic computer operations - Word, internet use and data management * Possess a general knowledge of Public Law 101-476 (I.D.E.A.) and Wyoming Education Rules Governing Student with Disabilities (Chapter 7 Rules). TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND HOURS OF DUTY: As per district policy. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students experiencing social/emotional difficulties, * Provide assessments to determine student's level of emotional distress * Assist student in goal settings and provide feedback on of such goals * Develop appropriate treatment plans with student, IEP teams, staff and families * Provide social skills training groups for students in need of such * Teach specific coping skills to help students manage symptoms of anxiety, and emotional distress * Provide crisis assessment and intervention to students experiencing a mental health crisis * Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to create positive behavior intervention supports * Participate in IEP meetings, parent teacher conferences, and PLC team meetings as requested * Advocate for students and families with community service providers * Maintain high quality documentation and data collection * Assists administration in implementing all policies, vision, mission and philosophy, regulations, and rules of PCS * Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Must be able to sit, stand and walk without fatigue and discomfort. 2. Must be able to lift 25 pounds and push or pull 50 pounds. 3. Possess visual acuity and stamina to work at a computer for at least part of the work day with a minimum of fatigue or discomfort.
