Provide mentoring, life and social skill building to children and their families in their home and in community-based settings. Collaborate with various stakeholder groups. Provide psychosocial rehabilitation living skills training in children's homes or community-based settings. Provide respite for families and assist with living skills in the home community-based settings. In-home family and individual counseling. Work with the child, family, and any support network to identify areas of risk and to create safeguards specific to these concerns. Assists the CFT in crisis stabilization and transitional moves to and from higher levels of care. Consistently address challenging behaviors proactively, respectfully, and by avoiding the use of aversive or deprivation intervention techniques in family-centered, strengths-based manners. What you'll provide: High School Diploma/GED is required. BHT level as stipulated by AZDHS/BHS is required. Experience working with children with behavioral needs and different diagnosis. Experience working with parents on parenting skills, modifying behavior and modeling parenting style. Ability to engage with others easily, coordinate with DCS and follow up in timely manner. Previous use of behavior charts and behavior modification skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and/or weekend hours. Comfort level working with and transporting youth in company vehicles. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred. Part-time Description Purpose: The BHW FWS student will help our team with events, tabling, social media, and other wellness-related tasks. Behavioral Health and Wellness is looking for a student leader to help support Still-Well activities on campus. This role will be involved in creating and distributing event promotional materials, staffing Still-Well programs/events, creating social media content, and other special projects related to wellness on campus. This student will have the opportunity to assist in creating wellness programming and events on campus. They will also be expected to be a wellness resource for other students by connecting them to appropriate resources. What You Will Do to End Homelessness Identify and triage clients who are experiencing/exhibiting signs or symptoms related to mental health. Perform clinical reconnections and work closely with the HSC's Behavioral Health Coordinator (BHC) in regards to housing opportunities and clinical contact. Monitoring clients progress and liaising with mental health/health professionals to adjust treatment plans. Maintaining detailed notes for all clients within the HMIS database. Liaising with patrol officers, social workers, community members, mental health providers as needed. Constantly expanding your knowledge of psychiatric disorders by attending conferences, attending on-going trainings, and networking with other mental health professionals. Observing the appropriate workplace and health and safety guidelines at all times. Coordinate with hospitals and other healthcare facilities prior to discharge of mentally vulnerable individuals to ensure proper connections to resources. Provide case management to mentally vulnerable clients identified through the Coordinated Entry system. Connect clients to health care options including, but not limited to, Medicare, Medicaid, ALTCS and SMI evaluations. Foster healthy and productive relationships with community partners including mental/medical providers, housing providers, and social service agencies. Apply critical thinking skills and creativity in overcoming service barriers. Other duties as assigned. You're An ideal Fit If You Meet the Following: Behavioral Health Technician Certification REQUIRED. Some College Credits in Human Services or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant employment experience. 2 years' experience providing homeless services or mental health services. A healthy knowledge of the mental health system and local healthcare resources and the ability to work with individuals with diverse needs. Able to communicate clearly and professionally, work as a team player and at times, independently; the ability to multitask, work in a face paced environment and maintain a calm demeanor in high stress situations. Counseling Practicum and Internship for Spring 2026 We are looking for master s level counseling students who are passionate about helping families and children and want to be surrounded by expert clinicians dedicated to their profession. Our counseling program, AZ Family Counseling, provides quality counseling intended to strengthen family life on behalf of children and to provide assistance to hurting people, guiding them towards spiritual, emotional and behavioral healing. We provide Christ centered counseling through the demonstration and application of Biblical truth and Christian values. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES Counseling services to assigned clients of CFC. Maintains files and records on each client counseled so that complete and accurate information is always available. Assists in database management as required. Alerts the Clinical Services Manager or designee of any serious concerns involving clients in the Counseling Program. This is particularly important where legal or safety issues may be involved. Discuss and establish fees with clients in accordance with CFCA s guideline for fee structure and obtain the supervisor s approval for any fee request beneath guideline. Discuss and collect insurance information from clients and provide information and necessary follow-up documentation and/or reports to ensure collection of insurance or other resource funding fees in a timely fashion. Attends Clinical Meetings and group supervision with the Director of Clinical Services or designee on a bi-monthly basis or as scheduled. Attends individual supervision with the Director of Clinical Services or designee as required. (Requirements are based upon level of experience, state licensure and professional requirements.) REQUIREMENTS Bachelor s degree in psychology or other related field and enrollment in an accredited Master s level Counseling program. (we currently DO NOT have MSW supervision available) At least one year of clinical experience together with experience with children and families is preferred. Knowledge of counseling ethical and legal issues as they apply to child and family counseling is required. Knowledge of counseling practice and theory, specifically in areas of human development, group and individual theory, and systems family therapy is required. This position must model strength of character, Christian values and a healthy relationship with God, themselves and others. This position must also have a good understanding of counseling dynamics and methods to effectively counsel clients. Responsibilities What You'll Do: The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) manages and maintains the safety of the individuals and staff. Takes vitals and assists individuals in meeting their needs while on the unit by providing exceptional customer service. Documents services provided and significant interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). * Conducts security screening and inventories property of individuals upon admission to the facility. Provides orientation to the Observation Unit and Short-term Inpatient Unit. Educates patients on their rights under ADHS regulations, grievance process, provides expectations, and explains rules and regulations. * Intervenes with escalated individuals using therapeutic techniques for de-escalation and performs restraints/seclusions when needed to ensure the individual's safety and the safety of others. Completes 1-to-1 on a patient in seclusion or mechanical restraints Q15. * Lifts, moves, and transports individuals using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention. * Assists individuals with activities of daily living to include eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring. * Conducts and documents individual's vitals and reports all questionable results to the RN/Physician attending the individual. Conducts and documents all BAL, urine drug screens, and urine pregnancy tests. * Attends court ordered hearings when subpoenaed. Must be willing to be a witness on a petition and available to provide testimony at court ordered hearings. * Documents all services and significant individual interactions in the Electronic Health Record. Monitors and documents patients Q15. * Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility and designated assigned unit.
