JOB SUMMARY
The Counselor (LPC or LCSW) provides clinical assessment/problem identification, individual, family and group therapy and case management. Develops and monitors treatment plans, monitors treatment progress, documents significant interactions, and maintains clinical charts and other reporting data. The Kid Clinic is a school-based pediatric clinic that serves children ages 2 weeks to 21 years old and offers counseling services for children 4 years old to 21 years old. The Kid Clinic is a collaborative effort between Campbell County Health, Campbell County Medical Group, and Campbell County School District to provide primary medical care, behavioral health, and substance use counseling services in Northeastern Wyoming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of behavioral health clients.
Provides clinically appropriate therapy utilizing best practices whenever possible.
Is actively engaged in the department, solves problems, participates in strategic planning, and contributes positively to workplace moral.
As assigned by manager and location participates in on call crisis rotation after hours and assists with walk-in crises during business hours.
Works positively and collaboratively with courts, law enforcement, physicians, hospital staff, Department of Family Services, Probation Offices, Campbell County School District, and other community agencies as applicable.
Maintains clinical documentation in a manner as required by department policy, the Standards for the Operation of Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Programs, and the Medicaid Policies and Procedures Manual, and in accordance, as applicable with SAMHSA TIPS and TAPS.
Maintains competence in multicultural issues and demonstrates respect and understanding for people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Adheres to established policies and procedures for Behavioral Health services or Kid Clinic and Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
Actively engages in departmental quality assurance and utilization management activities and processes to include monthly chart reviews.
Provides community-based psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and families as applicable.
Participates in activities to promote mental health and/or the prevention of substance abuse, particularly among children and adolescents, as appropriate.
Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) manages and maintains the safety of the individuals and staff. The BHS takes vitals and assists individuals in meeting their needs while on the unit by providing exceptional customer service. Documents services provided and significant interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
* Conducts security screening and inventories property of individuals upon admission to the facility. Provides orientation to the Observation Unit and Short-term Inpatient Unit. Educates individuals on their rights under DBHDS and DMAS regulations, grievance process, provides expectations, and explains rules and regulations.
* Maintains safety of the unit.
* Intervenes with escalated individuals using therapeutic techniques for de-escalation and performs restraints or seclusions (if applicable) when needed to ensure the individual's safety and the safety of others. Completes 1-to-1 on an individual in seclusion or mechanical restraints for 15 minutes.
* Lifts, moves, and transports individuals using proper body mechanics or accident prevention.

The role of the Youth CCS Mental Health Professional (MHP)/Supervisor is focused on providing direct supervision and clinical support to the Youth CCS Care Coordinators. The MHP/Supervisor also provides clinical guidance to high-risk youth and young adults enrolled in Youth CCS. The MHP/Supervisor responsibilities are two equally essential roles. The supervisor responsibilities include direct supervision of the Youth CCS staff to ensure comprehensive services are being provided to meet the individualized needs of each person served by Youth CCS. The clinical work includes providing direct clinical consultation to Care Coordinators and supporting high-risk enrolled youth who may need additional clinical care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide supervision to the Youth CCS team to ensure services are being coordinated to meet the identified needs of the individuals being served by the Youth CCS program. This includes being a champion of the Youth CCS process while providing leadership, and role modeling a strength-based environment.
Interview, hire, evaluate, manage, and train assigned Youth CCS staff in accordance with Milwaukee County Youth Behavioral Health programs and WCS Policies and Procedures.
Monitor and approve all documentation to ensure accuracy and timely completion (i.e. consent forms, provider notes, provider referrals, court letters Community Treatment Plans, Crisis Plans, Incident Reports, etc.)
Provide weekly, directive clinical consultation and coaching with each Care Coordinator for a minimum of one hour. Provide ongoing coaching and support regarding areas of strength of Care Coordinators, areas of need, and potential strategies for improvement through the consistent use of shadowing and supervision.
Facilitate clinical consultation for Youth CCS staff in accordance with DHS 36 and monitor staff's participation in/documentation of required consultation time.
Oversee CCS discharges in collaboration with Care Coordinators and Milwaukee County Youth CCS Administration.
Ensure accountability for timely annual functional screen evaluations which determine ongoing eligibility for youth enrolled in Youth CCS.
Provide Care Coordinators with ongoing assistance in day-to-day service delivery, as well as crisis situations.
Establish and maintain strong communication and collaboration with all system partners (Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Services, Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services, Children & Youth Family Services, Milwaukee County Crisis Services, etc.)
Assist with facilitation of weekly agency Care Coordinator team meetings.
Responsible for accurate documentation and maintaining case files as required by agency policy, government regulations, and applicable local, state, and federal codes. This includes provider notes, Community Treatment Plans, Crisis Plans, and SAFE-Ts in AvatarNX.
