As a Mental Health/Disability Specialist, you will collaborate with classroom staff in identifying children in need of individualized developmental and behavioral services. You will recommend and demonstrate strategies to help children adapt and succeed in the classroom and at home. Additionally, you will refer children for additional evaluation by partner agencies for Part B and Part C services and mental health consultation. You will document and track screenings, individualized services, and referrals in our child-tracking software. Full-time Description FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Residential Clinical Services, Residential Coordinator POSITIONS SUPERVISED: NA POSITION OVERVIEW: The Residential Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is responsible for maintaining a safe, sanitary, supportive, and stable environment in residential facilities. BHS will be trained to use a Housing First model when working with residents to complete goal orientated tasks, building independent living skills and promoting mental health recovery. BHS will apply a harm reduction and trauma informed approach to recovery orientated tasks to support mental health and/or sobriety. BHS must assign and supervise tasks carried out by residents, offer teaching opportunities and support both in a group and/or 1:1 setting, be able to provide daily support of medication management skills, and provide transportation to appointments and community-based activities as needed. BHS will be expected to coordinate with Team Leads, Housing Case Managers, internal agency, and other stakeholders to provide collaborative care to residents. Completion of state required, annual internal, and program specific training will be necessary prior to service delivery. BHS will be responsible for daily record keeping in compliance with contract expectations and foodbank guidelines. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide services to maintain required productivity / billing standard of 75% of all hours worked. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to integrate nutrition care with the patient's overall plan of care throughout the continuum. Use the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) to assess nutrition status, identify nutrition diagnoses, and develop, implement and evaluate outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients at nutrition risk.
