PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective or behavioral.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families for the purpose of treating such diagnosed emotional and mental disorders.
Conduct individual, group or family therapy as appropriate for the treatment plan of the patient.
Conduct a psychosocial assessment and develop an initial discharge plan.
Provide initial treatment planning for patient based on assessment and coordinate any additional services needed and revise as necessary.
Maintain documentation of therapy services provided to each patient according to facility and professional standards, revising as necessary.
Maintain a caseload as assigned.
Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with other staff to facilitate services for the patient as appropriate to their treatment plan.
May provide these services in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
Provide case management, discharge planning or after-care planning according to treatment plan.
May assist in educating and training staff on behavior management or therapeutic crisis intervention.
May coordinate various clinical, psychosocial or educational activities with patient and their families.
Evaluate patient's need and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
May assist in the training of new clinical staff and interns.
Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
* Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or other therapeutic field is required.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Arkansas state licensure for professional therapy providers required: LMSW/LCSW or LPC/LAC
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assessment and Evaluation: Gather and document all relevant information regarding a client, via diagnostic (biopsychosocial assessment) interview to produce an accurate diagnosis, presenting problem and challenges that will be the medically necessary focus for treatment services and interventions. Continuously assess client progress toward this goal. Document in the medical record progress toward this goal and at discharge, complete a written
summary of treatment activities, including the client's progress, prognosis and recommendations for follow up including any referrals made.
· Utilization Management: Monitor the utilization of treatment resources on behalf of clients. Ensure that treatment resources are being effectively utilized, are appropriate and are medically necessary. Participate in center utilization review activities and in peer review. This includes but is not limited to reviewing the medical records of clients assigned to other teams to monitor appropriateness of treatment and providing feedback.
· Crisis and Emergency Services: Respond as needed and consult with the crisis team, other center personnel, or other community providers regarding crisis or emergency needs of assigned clients.
· Medical Records: Responsible for the complete and timely written record of all treatment activities, services and interventions conducted for each client. This includes review of related documentation by service providers, as needed, to ensure adherence to treatment plans. Will complete demographic and other updates in the electronic health record as needed. Comply with documentation and NOMS collection as required by the CCBHC.
· Student Development: Shadow, mentor and supervise practicum students or interns as assigned by supervisor. Complete all required documentation required by each individual university.
· Productivity and Documentation: Required to meet department productivity and documentation Standards.
· Demonstrated Support of the Center Mission, Goals and Objectives: Willingness to engage with center management, peers, and community partners as well as clients in a manner that consistently communicates cooperation and positive regard will be required to enter and retain the QMHP position.

Position Summary:
