We are seeking a full-time licensed counselor or social worker to serve youth and adults in need of Behavioral Health services.
Licensure as a Counselor (LPC, LPCC) or Social Worker (LSW, LISW) is required. Independent licensure is strongly preferred.
The salary range for this position is per year based on:
Dependently Licensed: $22.29 - $26.82 and is hourly non exempt
Dependently Licensed, Seeking Independent Licensure: $24.93 - $29.20 and is hourly non-exempt
Independently Licensed: $61,174.73-$71,675.95/yr and is salary exempt
Essential Functions:
Assesses or defines the strengths and needs of referred individuals and families.
Directly provides and coordinates clinical and social services that are problem-focused and build on family and community strengths.
Carries out utilization review and quality assurance activities as directed.
Maintains necessary documentation, participates in program evaluation, attends team and program planning meetings, cross-systems training, and acquires knowledge of community resources.
Meets billing productivity requirements established by Integrated Services for Behavioral Health.
Other duties as assigned.

Must meet requirements for licensure as defined by the OhioCounselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.
Demonstrated a high degree of cultural awareness.

What you'll do:
Assesses clients for appropriate level of care, including behavioral examples, including frequency, duration, severity, and environmental impacts.
Identifies history of trauma, adversity and/or toxic stress that influence presenting problem(s), functioning, and family interaction styles. Determines the level of immediate and future risk of abuse or neglect to children.

Ensures that referrals are made as early in treatment as possible. Ensures family members are supported through the discharge process. Communicates changes in recommendations and/or referrals in a timely and concise manner to all stakeholders.
Schedule and conduct therapeutic counseling sessions with individuals, families and treatment teams based on cases assigned and at the established acuity for each family. Appointments must be made at times that families can participate; evening work is expected. Work with supervisor to adjust acuity when the needs of the families change.
Uses trauma-informed, focused interventions to engage clients. Educates clients, family members, and other providers about healthcare conditions, prevention, available treatments, illness and whole health self-management, peer support and recovery.
Manages behavioral health crises through appropriate interventions. Respond to perceived resistance in a non-confrontational manner and intervene to help child regain control and reduce risk at it pertains to the position held.
Consistently records client progress in relation to treatment goals. Provides accurate, concise narrative when needed on any documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, behavior management programs and discharge planning on an accurate and timely basis.
Make corrections to errors on any administrative or UM reports including but not limited to incorrect delivery methods, blank notes, overlapping notes, invalid diagnoses, and invalid/incorrect place of service.
Completes paperwork within defined timelines (Progress notes should be documented on the same day services are provided but are due - at the latest - within 7 days of the service that was provided).
Make contact with newly assigned cases within 48 hours of assignment and have first appointment within 7 days of case assignment.

Remains free from citations by other providers or by consumers for unethical practice and meets the standard for their own profession.
Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies, including compliance with all behavioral and ethical expectations.
Participate in at least 6 hours of supervision for every 3-month period or meet the requirements of supervision required by license/registration (whichever is greater).

The Choices Mobile Crisis Response Team is responsible for 24/7 mobile emergency responses for individuals experiencing an emotional, behavioral, and/or mentalhealth crisis in Preble and Montgomery Ohio Counties. The Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) is a full-time position (40 hours/week) operating during scheduled shifts. The QBHS provides crisis response as part of a team and has understanding of either mental illness or substance use disorder treatment and recovery as well as crisis response procedures, de-escalation techniques and how the individual's own behavior can impact the behavior of others. The incumbent is also aware of the functioning of relevant healthcare systems and how to engage therapeutically with a person with mental illness or a person in substance use disorder treatment and recovery. The QBHS operates from a strengths-based perspective, collaborating with Choices' Crisis Team, clinical leadership, and fellow responders. The QBHS performs a wide range of tasks to assist individuals in regaining optimal functioning within the community and mastery over their own recovery process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Can articulate the mission, vision and services provided by Choices and the Mobile Response Team and partners.
Communicates the practice expectations of the Mobile Response Team to consumers, community partners, and funders.
Can participate in shifts based on a fire house model.
Responds to crisis referrals in person within 60 minutes.
Work with individuals for 42 days post crisis to provide stabilizing connections to the community and peer support.
Adheres to the policies and protocols established by Choices for the Mobile Response Program.
Incorporates the guiding principles and values of Systems of Care into their interactions with Individuals experiencing a crisis, fellow team members, Choices staff and system partners.
Communicates effectively with the Mobile Response Team Manager to ensure collaborative efforts and proactive response to issues and concerns.
Participates in at least one hour of supervision weekly with direct supervisor.
Follows established strategic plans and quality improvement procedures to achieve stated goals and enhance the experience of referred individuals.

functional skills.
Implement PSR activities focused on restoring and supporting daily routines and
functioning, helping clients manage psychiatric or emotional symptoms in home, school, work, and community settings.
Use a strengths-based, person-centered approach to promote rehabilitation, skill-
building, and improved self-management within the client's natural environment.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree or high school diploma with a minimum of 3 years' experience working with youth and family populations.
