Your Role
As a MentalHealth Advisor, you will provide clinical supervision, staff support, and consumer intervention while helping to maintain program quality and compliance. You will serve as a key member of the Adult Services team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and positive outcomes.
What You'll Do:
Supervise, train, evaluate, and manage assigned Adult Services staff, including assisting with personnel processes such as hiring, interviewing, and performance management.
Provide clinical supervision and support for staff cases, including reviewing documentation such as SARJs, RPOCs, and Crisis Plans.
Assist staff in crisis interventions and home visits, providing clinical feedback and support to consumers as needed.
Support staff with community resource recommendations, professional development, and training on mentalhealth needs. Serve as a liaison for the organization and programs with stakeholders, including Milwaukee County.
Complete and submit required documentation by deadlines. Maintain effective communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all stakeholders.
Follow all duties as a mandated reporter. Attend meetings and professional development activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited school.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with mentalhealth and/or substance use.
Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for diverse audiences.
Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).

Positive, collaborative, and professional disposition; “people person” with strong interpersonal skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR:
Interview and evaluate families to complete the intake process.
Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.

Counsel clients in accordance with their treatment plans.

Provides mentalhealth therapy/treatment including individual, family, and group treatment. This would include face to face, phone contact, and written correspondence.
Conducts mentalhealth evaluations and assessments; including gathering information regarding symptoms, current, and previous psychiatric medications, previous treatment or therapy, history, etc.

Serves as a member of the intake team including initial screening, emergency services, crisis stabilization, referral services, and care planning in consultation with interdisciplinary teams.
Serves as a member of the CCS, CST and CSP teams to develop treatment goals and plans based on assessment, evaluation, and agency guidelines.
Provides consultation, collaboration, and/or training; screening services, psychoeducational and group facilitation to internal agency divisions and community.
Monitors medication compliance by observing medication administration, watches for side effects or signs of deterioration.
Teaches clients about available community resources and how to independently gain access to needed services.
Advocates and works to coordinate services and support clients in achieving treatment objectives without duplication of effort and with maximum effective use of staff time and available resources.

As a Summer Community Program Facilitator you will be responsible for facilitating safe, environmentally conscious, nature-focused outdoor programs for participants of all ages. The Summer Community Program Facilitator will work as a team with fellow Community Program staff to engage audiences in urban outdoor recreation activities such as paddling, biking, hiking and fishing as well as informal environmental education programming.
Other non-teaching projects will be assigned as needed throughout the season to maintain programming gear, assist with department administrative tasks, and support the Education Department as a whole. This person must be able to work some evenings and Saturdays.
Our Summer Employment and Internship Experience:
The Community Programs Intern is paid a stipend of $1,120 on a bi-weekly basis.
This role is allotted 3 days (24 hours) of PTO for planned vacation or sick days.

+ Provides some oversight and guidance to the Behavioral Health Technician staff to ensure the proper execution of work tasks.
+ Develops and enhances cooperative professional relationships with local community agencies significant to the continuum of care for clients.
+ Processes admission paperwork for clients; coordinates services with medical support, outpatient, emergency rooms, law enforcement, pharmacy, housing and other necessary agencies.
+ Updates and maintains a variety of files, records, charts, and other documents; gathers, compiles and organizes data for management purposes; maintains appropriate records and prepare reports both verbal and written.
+ Assists consumers in learning independent living skills, which are defined in the resident's Individual Service Plan. (i.e. laundry, housekeeping). As well as encourages management of symptoms through support and education.
+ Participates in ensuring that nutritious community meals are planned, prepared, and served within the home, including food preparation, serving and storage.
+ Monitors consumer medication regime and compliance as directed by their physician.
+ Reports to appropriate staff any changes in consumer behavior and functioning.
+ Ensures that residents maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene.
+ Ensures that residents leave for their appointments appropriately dressed and bathed.
+ Ensures that the house is clean at all times and conforms to CBRF regulations HFS 83.

+ Participates in emergency evacuation procedures and fire alarm system checks with staff and residents.

+ Documents residents' daily behavior and routine in the client's chart.
+ Ensures that paperwork and transportation to residents' medical appointments are completed.
+ Orders supplies and groceries as necessary.
+ Trains and orients pool staff as necessary.
+ Supervises and documents morning client groups as appropriate for education level.
+ Plans and maintains menus for house meals.

Our programming followed the Multisystemic Therapy approach, with the Therapist working to understand the function of the youth's maladaptive behavior, as well as the strengths within the family.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FAMILY SYSTEMS THERAPIST:
Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and create, implement, and evaluate client treatment plans
Counsel clients and families in accordance with the treatment plan
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mentalhealth, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, and/or group counseling.
Organize and facilitate structured group, individual, and/or family activities.
Attend client court proceedings and make appropriate recommendations, as required.
Exercise judgement to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
Safely transport clients as needed.
LOCATION: Kenosha, WI. Hybrid 50% WFH days per week. Local travel is required to meet with clients within the home and other community spaces throughout Kenosha County area, with mileage reimbursement.
SCHEDULE: Full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. Availability for afternoon/evening sessions is required.
SALARY: $50,000 annually. Additional bonus pay is available based on performance.
