Our Acute Behavioral Services (ABS) group homes support individuals with complex mentalhealth and behavioral needs. Many of the people we serve have experienced frequent crises, hospital stays, or legal involvement. They may have a history of failed placements and need a highly structured environment to succeed.

Job Description
We are seeking compassionate MentalHealth Specialists to work with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or mentalhealth diagnosis. The people we support may have behavioral, or medical complexities and reside in an apartment-style setting.

Experience working with MentalHealth/Illness is preferred.

Our Camp Counselor positions have the potential to serve as competitively paid internships that meet your course credit needs.
First and foremost, your primary responsibilities will be as a Camp Counselor. As an Intern, you will be expected to fulfill your regular daily job responsibilities and it will be up to you to complete your internship responsibilities and to ensure that they do not interfere with your work obligations. Contact your college advisor in advance and ask them if you can use your summer camp job as a practicum, internship or for other course credits. If KE Camps can meet your internship requirements, your on-site Camp Director will be your field supervisor and oversee your course work. You will also be connected to a KE Camps contact at our HQ in Skillman, NJ. To receive credit, you must complete the course, practicum or internship per your college's parameters and complete your summer employment.
As a Camp Counselor, you will be an active participant in all camp activities and will assist your Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers. Our Counselors interact with our campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.
Camp Counselor Qualities
Ability to help children grow in character, experiences and insights

Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
Prior experience working with children

Camp Counselor Responsibilities
Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience
Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Camp Director
Greet families and campers upon arrival
Support Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency procedures with campers
Participate in all camp activities
Supervise daily swim time in a hands-on manner from within the water (lifeguard certification not required)
Help out where needed and lead activities when asked to by the Camp Director
Complete other duties, as assigned

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in conducting screening and intake interviews with potential clients and referral sources to assess for appropriateness of placement and eligibility for admission.
Complete required documents for admission to the program including Individual Abuse Prevention Plan, Initial Services Plan and Release of Information forms.
Describe to the client the program guidelines and expectation. Provide clients in timely manner with information and understanding of any or all treatment costs, their client rights, and any other information deemed necessary by Progress Valley or licensing agencies.
Complete appropriate assessments and develop a diagnostic evaluation that allows for an integrated approach to treatment planning.
Work with clients to identify and evaluate their strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences with the goal to develop an individualized treatment plan.
Work with the client to establish immediate and long-term treatment goals and objectives; decide on a treatment process and the resources to be utilized.
Assist clients and families in achieving their treatment goals and objectives utilizing appropriate therapeutic methods and recognized best practices.
Provide case management that brings services, agencies, resources, or people together within a planned framework of action toward the achievement of established goals.
Develop curriculum for and facilitate therapeutic, behavioral and educational group sessions (including lectures).
Identify the needs of the client which cannot be met by Progress Valley and assist the client to utilize the support systems and community resources available to them.
Develop and resent relevant alcohol and other drug abuse and co-occurring information to clients, family and community members through formal educational presentations.
Recognize client crisis and implement an appropriate course of action.
Individualize counseling in accordance with cultural, gender and lifestyle differences.
Make appropriate and timely referrals when necessary.
Provide timely and accurate documentation which includes, but is not limited to, client assessments, treatment plan, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other client-related data.
